This board is for anything to do with the Pink Poogle Toy Forum. If you have a question or want to suggest any ideas, then this is the place to do it.

The Kyogre's Lair forums has a board for both new comers, and those making leaves of absence. Goodbye threads add a lot of clutter to miscellaneous, and this would make it's navigation much easier...

I wouldn't see a whole board, but maybe we could split up the Welcome Lounge board into two subforums, one for welcoming and one for farewelling (is that a word?). We'd need the subforum hack installed though.

I like the idea of the Welcome Lounge board being split into two subforums, one for welcoming people and one for saying goodbye to people.
On side note when we get the subforum hack installed we also can resplit the Word Games and Contest board in two subforums like it used to be before the database problem occured.

I've never had anything against there being Goodbye threads in the Welcome lounge, I'm sure the other moderators wouldn't mind either. Though I think the name and description of the board might be why no one ever makes them there lol. I wouldn't mind having them placed there, be it with a subforum or by changing the name and description of the board. I like to think that it's not something that happens too often though, not permanent farewells, but there are a few "leaving for a bit" type threads in Misc

Yeah, it's a good idea. There should also be a birthday celebrations thread so people aren't left out when they make their own birthday topic and it gets bumped down by someone else's. This board I go to, we have returns & depatures, birthday celebrations, and introduction thread. We have newmembers for introductions so returns and departures should be in there. Birthday celebrations should be a sticky in miscellaneous so everyone can check to see who's birthday it is today and such.

I'm not sure that a sticky will be done for birthdays though. It feels a little more special being able to create your own thread on your day ^_^. I think it gives it a little more of a personal flavor, specially when you friends who remember a friend's birthday and post a thread for them

. I think things like that would be overlooked in a sticky. But I understand what you mean about it getting bumped down when we have a lot of birthdays in the same month, in a sticky it would always be there for that month. *stares at legs in soccer socks *

How about if the birthday was just originally announced in the sticky and then a thread could be made to celebrate? This way there would be a one stop place to look and see if anyone's is coming up. This could also be used for upcoming events (someone is leaving for a particular amt of time, a ppt anniversary, a neopets anniversary, etc.) and whoever is in charge of the thread (one of the mods) could update the first post to incude an updated (by date) list.

I don't think it would be a good idea for a whole board for goodbyes, not that many people leave or bother to say they are leaving(unless you are including temporary absences too.)

yeah, like somebody said up there, not many people leave, or say anything when they leave... but not just to repeat what somebody said, id mention that most people who say "Goodbye" just leave for a few weeks or so and come back... PPT is addicting

or they say "Goodbye ppt!" and on the inside it says how they need a break and are coming back anyway..... so alot of them arent really goodbyes... they are more of a "brb"

It's those temporary absences that tend to clutter up Misc. Disc. It would be much simpler to put the notice in your signature, rather than create a topic (which would always go along the lines off "I'm leaving PPT ............. for 3 days. || Hope you have a nice trip! || We'll miss you! || Who are you again? || Aww, I hope you come back || I'm back everyone! || YAY! (S)he is back! Let's celebrate").
