Migrating PPT Main to Wordpress: help needed

Wed Aug 29, 2007 12:41 pm

Hey guys, I finally took the plunge today and started migrating the entire PPT main site to wordpress to make the site a lot cleaner, increase interactivity, and gain access to a whole load of new features... and mainly just to get ppt out of 1999's static HTML page era :) hey we gotta evolve with the times!

Unfortunately it means that all the pages need to be manually transferred over, and there are... 2,000 pages roughly.

I've managed to do 230 pages today but it would be really helpful if maybe I can split the task up into 50-page sets to be distributed amongst everyone to chip in a little bit. It doesn't take long (about 30-45 minutes), it's just copy pasting really, but it would make everything SOOO much faster.

If anyone here is interested, register an account at http://www.pinkpt.com/neopets/ and leave a note on this thread with your email and username on the wordpress and I'll upgrade your account and email you a pack of 50 pages.

Mucho thanks :)

Thanks everyone for the help so far. It has been amazing response-wise and having you guys help out is saving me so much hand pain from transferring the pages. *hugs everyone*

We've still got about 1,500 pages to go so if anyone else out there is happy to pitch in 50-100 pages each, then post in this thread.

Wow you've finished two sets already!? Oh dear lordy! :o

I just added another 200-ish pages and went through all the pages yourself, Moongewl and Evan added: formated them to the make headings H2 and categorized them all in their right categories :) I've been noticing you've been categorizing them much better as you went along Jonny.

Nope I think that's it so far. :)

Thanks for all the help guys, especially from Jonny who contributed an amazing five ets. It's certainly saved my right hand from falling off. Now to work on fixing up all the content and site before opening up officially!
