I have a question/comment/suggestion not sure what you would label it.
I've noticed lately then when i click to read a thread and start reading and scrolling down that the page isnt fully loaded and i have to wait for a VERY long time for it to load so i can continue reading. The first oh 10 or so posts show up but then it lags forever before I can see more posts. Is there a way to limit the posts per page so I could read easier? Do you think it's someones graphics (who posts very often) that is slowing the load time? Is there something I can click to turn on/off that would make my load time quicker? It's drivin me crazy because I'm more of a lurker then anything else and can't lurk!
Also I'm on dial up and use firefox with adblockplus if that helps someone think of the solution please and thank yous!

If i'm not mistaken the posts per page are already limited to 14 posts per page... but i'm not really sure about the rest. I know on other forums i'm on that you can turn off graphics. We generally try to keep peoples graphics under the PPT allowed image sizes to try to avoid slow loading. Maybe someone with more experience in this matter can come along and tell you more. But thats about all I know on the subject. *wanders off to ferret information*

As for the number of posts per page, I have no idea sorry.

thanks I'll see if clickin' some of the images off helps...

EDIT:
Seems that turning off signatures is the way to go for me for now... my poor dial up cannot handle all the graphic goodness

Everything should be alot quicker when you block images and such, if not we are always here to help!

It seems to be alot better now. I think everyone on the board having signatures and so many different ones was makin the load time bad for me. And yup still on dial up. Cable doesnt come down my road, there is no DSL here, and I really can't afford satellite. So I got what i got lol

Even if you're on dial up, everyones signatures should be downloaded into your Cache, so really signatures shouldn't be the major problem if you browse PPT alot. Make sure you dont delete your temporary internet folder too often then, if you're on dial up atleast.
That should help with ppt pages loading slow if images are the problem.

Just a quick note that the site server was upgraded over the past few days so everything should be faster all round.
