A new member's suggestions

MODs/hacks:

Name: Favorites Mod 1.0.4
Link: http://www.phpbb2.de/dload.php?action=file&file_id=55
Benefit: No need for e-mail notification on favorite topics. Simply add the topics you want to your "favorites" and look into them via the "Favorites" tab near the top of the forum index where FAQ, Search, Memberlist, Usergroups, etc. are.
Name: SpellChecker 1.0.6na
Link: http://www.phpbb2.de/dload.php?action=file&file_id=477
Dictionary: http://www.phpbb2.de/dload.php?action=file&file_id=478 (required for SpellCheker MOD/hack)
Benefit: I just thought it'd be nice to spellcheck your post before submitting it. The MOD/hack adds a tab below the Message Body where your type up your message. You simply click it and a box comes up where you can do corrections. It's really simple.

This is a new forum, because we recently had to replace it. The Admin are adding the original hacks, and then we'll be getting some new hacks.

Just wait, because thse are useful hacks, that may get added in the future, just wait for the original ones to be added first.

Oh, I didn't know. Thanks for the heads up, Matt. Yeah, no problem. Just thought I'd make my suggestions anyway for, like, future consideration.

I think they're a good suggestion, but they probably won't be added (if they are) for a while yet. We're still waiting on some of the usergroups :)

I do like those two mods though, unlike some that have been mentioned in the past they seem to be useful, and they'll actually add something to the forum :)

From all of the suggestions I have seen, they have to be the best mods I've seen. Those would be really useful :-D

I really like the idea of them...
The second one would come to good use for me

I second that. This is one of the few boards I've seen that doesn't have a spellchecker. It would sure help with typos.

*nods*
Spellcheckers are great things... and then I wouldn't have to copy/paste my posts into MS Word whenever I need to check on a few words.

I guess we just have to be patient while the forums are worked on. :)

Agreed, very handy :).

I don't know what's taking so long though. Mods/hacks take like 10 minutes to put in. I know 'cuz at another forum I was waiting for someone to stick a hack in and it didn't take too long... and they were on dial-up.

A spellchecker would be awesome though. I need one. :D

You seriously don't know some hacks.

I've used a mod that took me one hour, but it went wrong, so I had to restart. Besides, people don't want to spend all of their life adding hacks to a forum.

If it is wanted, it will be added, when it can.

Of course, but its more like.

TFH* x No. of Skins + another 10-15 mins or so.

So, say a hack takes 15 minutes multiplied by two, half an hour, plus some more time for human error or something, almost 45 minutes.

*TFH = Time for hack

I think those would be some great hacks for this forum! Especially the last one, everyone always needs a spellchecker once in a while (or often!). But I have concerns with the first hack. What if the topic you want to favorite is split? Like, say someone wanted to watch the "PPT Picture topic." When it is split, will the person have to add the new thread to their favorites? Or does it pass over from split to split?

P.S. Somebody give this boy a medal!!! Oh, and that someone else says that this is "A smashing good idea." Good luck with setting these hacks up admins (well, if you do decide to)!!

Hmm, I like the Favourites one, but I'm not so sure of a Spellchecker (I've never been for forums). They usually end up Americanising my spelling- don't get me wrong, it does correct stuff I've actually spelled wrong, but it goes a bit too far for my liking.

Assuming you've already posted on that favourite thread, all you need to do is look in your personal post history(via your profile page) and find the post. I don't really know how essential it is. I thought it was a good idea, but there are allreayd so many ways to find a thread you were interested in.

As for the Spell Checker:
