I just checked the url of the koi (in the first post) and found it was the happy version. Now THAT is overdoing it. Your can be painted grey but you can still be happy, can't you?

Actually, the sad version looks better than the happy one. It isn't any happier, but at least it looks pretty much alive!

No, you can't. Grey is sad, grey is depressed. Depressed and sad is NOT happy. What would be the point of having a grey pet if it's happy?

I like the grey koi, but it could have been better, it looks kind of weird right now.

No, wait! Look at the back "palm" of the right fin (our right, its left). It looks like it has a smiley face on it. :D

Yes, but what I mean is a colour shouldn't really affect your mood inside, just because you're that colour. Unless you care about being that colour :P

Why do we need so many happy pets? I like the change. Besides, it's one brush colour. It's not like most of Neopets out there will be depressed and look like they're dying.

Don't be afraid to see the truth, even if no one wants you to. Be yourself and not a fool. Don't ever be afraid to speak your mind and listen to criticism. Dissent is keeps our country progressive and willingness to challenge yourself is what keeps yourself ever evolving.

I'm slightly annoyed by the grey pets simply because there haven't been any new grey faerie items for me to collect! I'm having a hard enough time saving up for a grey faerie doll and the grey faerie mushroom that I'd like to see some inexpensive grey faerie items.

That idea beaten pose has already been thought of four years ago ;)

 That is funny... if not a little disturbing that it's eyes are still somewhat open.

The grey pets are just too much for me. No I don't expect happy happy joy joy all the time, and I think they've redrawn pets too cutesy. Like bad disney or something. But the grey? Depressed is just nothing to joke about or try to make "cute". Grey Faerie stuff? great! The collectors of faerie things would be thrilled. But grey pets and petpets...my roommate who is not a neo person, doesn't really "get it" saw the grey pets and was horrified. Her reason? She figured (and actually rightly) that there's alot of truly depressed people who go on the site to get away from themselves and out of their own heads for awhile. Having depressed pets/petpets only keeps that in the front of the mind.

Well, then I'd recommend those folks skip the grey pets, and get things like Quiggles, which look ecstaticly happy. (I gave mine the glum-looking Eustabee as a petpet, 'cause I figured the mopey little critter could use some cheering up.)

If getting a grey pet/petpet will depress you, don't do it.

And yes, I do know people who are clinically depressed. My wife. Me.

There is a lot of beauty in sadness.

"Out of sorrow entire worlds have been built
Out of longing great wonders have been willed"

But hey... this IS neopets. What does it matter? I doubt a virtual pet is going to send someone into a suicidal spiral.

everconfused, no need to take it so seriously. It's like the people who get upset over the dung items - y'all need to find something else to get upset over... there's more important things in this life than the color and shape of things.

I think, in my opinion, gray ones are cute.

*sighs*
