Im not exactly sure about this, but I took this class last semester called Intro. to Anthropology, Psychology and Sociology. And we did this unit on TV and cultural influences and stuff. Anyways, aparently Canadian stations have to air a certain number of hours of Canadian produced television... and thats why they do so many promotions for Train 48 and keep it on the air.
Yup, the CRTC (I think it's the Canadian Radio-Telecommunications and Television Commission or something like that) oblige stations to have something like 35% Canadian content in order to operate.

Oh, commercials...practically all Chinese ones. Especially the Swiss European Spa ("Chee Wing") ones they air on the Chinese channel here. The guy's an idiot, maybe he's using negative publicity just to get known or something.
And all those Coca-Cola ones. They don't really make sense.

I absolutely hate the Sonic commercials. You know, the ones with those two obnoxious guys who visit drive-thrus that aren't Sonic and complain, often baselessly, about the food and service?
