The comedian Ross Noble comes from my town. It's "The ultimate in dullness" according to him, and I must say I agree.

One of the people who was on the tv programme came from my town. Oh yes! I'm so proud. *sarcasm*

I think that's it really. The only good thing is that my town is close to Newcastle. :D

Nothing much....our town was built in 1960 due to the overflow of population from London.

Some of the worst roads in the country.

Big Dig.

Second oldest established town of the original 13 colonies.

I have to agree that the roads are the worst.

You'd need quite a good, detailed map to find my town-Most people who live in it simply tell people they live by a nearby metropolitan area that:

-Is an "All American City"
-The 1st blue laws, lollipop, corkscrew, fish hooks, stone crusher, sulfur matches, automatic revolver, corset, almanac, American English dictionary, Frisbee, silly putty, rubber boots, artificial heart, Erector Set, lobster roll & thermoscan all began here.
-Birthplace of Dubya and Dr. Spock
-Should be called Yalesville, except there already is a Yalesville a few miles away.
-Was the capital of the USA at one point
-Incorporated as a city in 1784.

But my town?

-Our secondary school district had to vote on a referendum/budget thing 17 times before it passed. Sports fans actually started heckling, "You're going down like the Amity Budget!"
-We, for some reason, absolutely refuse to let Stew Leonards (Dairy/Farm Superstore) build a store here.
-Er..The highest combined SAT score of 8th graders in the state who participate in a talent search program lives there? Me! *gloat*
-Pez and Pepperidge Farms are based here. Yum.

Hmmmmmmmm *racks brains*

Nope can't think of anything famous about the town I live in. Hold on, I heard somewhere it's the Gateway to the Highlands but I could be wrong about that. In fact I don't really have any idea where I heard that. :P

Um........

Um....

Um.........

I got nothing. Well, it used to be the capital but now it isn't.

Maybe Yoshi knows something?

Ah! Wait! Sarah McGlachlan lives in West Vancouver. XD

Sarah McLachlan? I thought she lived in Ontario or Quebec or something...but you're probably right. O_o

Well, Vancouver's got the 2010 Winter Olympic Games (BOOOOO *hiss*). It's ranked as one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and it's a major harbour leading Pan-Pacific. It's surrounded (and comprised of) rainforests, and there are several mountains around it that are famous for skiing, Whistler in particular. It's also pretty environmentally friendly- at least I hope so. And as the signs say when you enter the city, "Welcome to Vancouver- a Nuclear Weapons Free Zone." Hehe.

Bad things we're known for...poor healthcare, many strikes, earthquakes, and Surrey. Surrey's a district in Vancouver, apparently it's got the highest rate of car thefts in the whole of North America. Oh, and the Richmond and Delta areas...they're gonna sink into the water soon, they're both built on sand and everytime we have an earthquake, parts of the districts disentegrate into the water.

My tiny little town houses the Olympic sprinter Mark Lewis-Francis.

Also, it boasts the mega achievement of having the highest teenage pregnancy rate in the whole of Europe. Joy.

My town isn't on the map. Nothing even vaguely important happened here. I do live quite near the Palisades Mall, which is supposed to be the largest mall in the country or something.

Why must you scare me like that? I live in Delta!

*Shudders* Surrey...Dipperville. *Gags*

And yes, Sarah McLachlan does live in West Van. She lives two blocks away from my mom's friend Barry.

...How the heck could I forget about the olympics in Whistler?

Speaking of Whistler, it's the third top ski resort in the world. :D

Just doing the job of my summer school teacher- get everyone to move out. One day, some of us are gonna say "I told you so." Juuuust wait till Richmond and Delta flood over, then completely disappear into the Georgia Strait. ;P

It's not exactly Whistler...Richmond (*ahemsinkercough*) is gonna get the skating rink, right in between the RV park and the one way car route under the No. 2 Road Bridge.

Fine. But when that happens, I'm coming to live with you and I'm going to dye all your clothes hot pink.

Besides, another interesting fact: This year, all Delta schools have a two-week spring break. So ha.

It's the gambling capital of the world, like Neopets Addict said. :D

Oh yeah, Andre Agassi, tennis player lives here, and his wife, Steffi Graf.

Also, there's this big debate about storing nuclear waste at that Yucca place, which is not too far away from Vegas. The president wants to put it there.

Michael Phelps lives near here... I think...
