And I didn't totally understand what that woman was saying about what happened to all of the other people. Did she say it like they all went crazy so she had to kill them?

Anywho... tonight was really good. And UUUGH I hate it when it just cuts off like that right when it's getting awesome!! And then to learn that we have to wait 2 WEEKS for the next episode!!

Yeah... I really liked tonight's episode. With the whole golf thing *waves her Go Hurley flag* and the Sawyer thing trying to at least be a bit more social... and just.. *nodnodnodnod* Great episode!

Oh Lord, TWO MORE WEEKS. Might as well just kill me now!

A lot of things were left open. Danielle Rousseau said something about the others "getting sick" so she had to kill them. Is she just nuts, or is there really a sickness on the island? This episode seemed to support the Alien Theory, whether it's true or not.

After getting a huge fix of Sawyer and then an ep with very few Sawyer scenes, I gotta say...I felt a little deprived! At least he's starting to come to terms with himself and try to be more social. And he and Kate were friendly for once...awwwww!!

The golf course thing was hilarious. What's with this Ethan guy though? There've been theories that Ethan is Alex, Danielle's son, but he seems much too old.

And of course Abrams blessed us with a cliffhanger that'll be hanging for two damn weeks! Sayid walking through the jungle hearing whispers...creeptastic. I'll probably just handle the two Lost-less weeks with a whole lot of speculation, fanart, and comics.

I loved the whole "Polar bears?" "Yeah, didn't you hear about the polar bear?" dialogue. lol It cracked me up, since that's the exact same way I felt about the polar bear thing. xD

Me and my dad sort of have a thoery of who Alex is. But I need you guys to answer one question...Did you ever see, on the show,Sawyer in the airplane? Because I don't remember seeing him on the plane. Maybe Sawyer was never on the plane and has always been on the island...maybe Sawyer is Alex?!? 'cause Saywer is not his real name, as we all know...but his flash backs...they never showed him gettting on the plane, or a reason to get on the plane...tell me what you guys think...

Good thoery isn't it...unless someone proves Sawyer was on the plane...then that whole 3 mins of typing will be useless

Next episode looks as though it will revolve mostly around Claire and Charlie. In the previews, Claire wakes up screaming that someone is trying to hurt her baby. The other castaways try to figure out what is wrong with her, and Jack suggests that nothing is physically wrong with her, and no one is trying to hurt her or her baby, that it's all in her head. Charlie looks a little peeved and says "It's NOT all in her head." Jack warns that unneccessary stress on her part could cause her to go into early labor. Charlie goes to Claire and tells her that he'll be there for her. Aww. ^^

As for your theory, I'm pretty sure Sawyer is not Alex. In the last episode, Sawyer was shown in the outside world, trying to scam rich people out of their money, because apparently that's the same thing a man named Sawyer did to his parents when he was young (right before his father killed his mother and then himself).

However, Alex could be the mystery figure who clonked Sayid on the head when he was trying to get his transmacieverthingy to work 2 episodes ago.

Ya...i knew that but did they ever show him in Austraila? Or was that whole episode in Australia...the last flashback i can remember them showing was Sawyer looking at the little kid with the freckles...maybe there will be another episode about his past...

Wow...thats smart...i never thought of that. But wouldn't Danielle know if Alex was still alive though?

Oh, I think she DOES know. Remember, early in the episode, right after Danielle had kidnapped Sayid, when he was chained to the bed and she kept asking him "Where is Alex? Where is Alex?" in different languages? She knows he's alive, alright. She just doesn't know where he is.

And honestly, if I were Alex, and I saw my mother murder everyone around me, I sure wouldn't hang around. lol

Of course, this is all assuming that Alex was old enough to run away from his/her mother and successfully hide from her on the same island for 16 years. We were never told how old he/she is.

I loved this episode. I don't care for Sawyer at all *ducks flying vegetables* so in my mind it was much better than last week's ep. Sayid has to be one of my favorite characters on the show. I really wish that the French woman had explained a little more, though. It almost defeats the purpose if they introduce an important character and only give a little more information than has already been revealed.

It seems to me that the possibility of there being other people on the island is very real. Like, some kind of weird scientific laboratory, where they conduct experiments on castaways and build giant robots. Which, in my mind, would explain both a disease and a mechanical monster that doesn't actually eat its victims.

And Erin, your post made me think of something. I assumed Alex was a boy, but I can't actually recall Danielle using the word 'he' at any time. Does anyone know if Alex was refered to as being a boy? It would make for an interesting twist if Alex ended up being a woman that's with the castaways right now. (I'm thinking possibly Kate, although it would be difficult to script her escaping from the island, only to crash right back where she started)

I don't think Danielle hit Sayid on the head because she would have dragged him to her house from there, why would she hit him once and then make him come to her place the second time she saw him, probably would've taken him to her place in the first incident (Hope that made sense, just woke up..)

I'm not sure about the whole Alex thing, maybe he was the one that hit Sayid on the head and I'm assuming Alex is a guy because when Sayid asked Danielle if that was her son, she didn't reply because maybe she didn't want to admit that she did something to her son. *shrugs*

as for Sayid, he's cool and all like he's a guy who goes with what his heart says but I just hate that accent, it seems like he's trying to put it on and it gets annoying. He can speak english perfectly, I don't think I've ever heard him mix up or stall on his words. I dunno maybe he's a quick learner or something but I find it weird how he can have such a strong accent and speak english so perfectly. And I know there's diff types/accents of english like comparing aussie to british but he's from Iraq and their dominant language is arabic. Even in that jail place he was at, I don't think they would talk in english there.

Oh and I'm pretty sure Sawyer wasn't on the island from before because unless he found a way to shave his beard in the past 16 years I don't think his beard would be so small plus he'd probably be freaky like Danielle. Plus based on his clothing too, those jeans I think they're brazilian style or I dunno, but they're not something you'd wear in the early 90s. Of course these are all assumptions but I really don't think sawyer was on the island from before.

I think Alex was born on the island. When Sayid asked if Alex was on the plane, Danielle didn't really answer. He was probably Danielle and Robert's child, probably less than 15 years old now.

My bro had a problem with that, too. But the thing is, they weren't actually speaking English. What the writers did, is they started us out hearing Sayid speak in Arabic, then they had them speaking in English, so we would understand that they were still speaking in their native language, but it was supposed to be like we understood what they were saying. And I love his accent, it really doesn't matter to me how heavy/light an accent is, because those stay no matter how well you can speak a language, unless you've lived among people who speak that language for 10-20 years, or you make a concerted effort to remove all traces of a foreign accent.

Yup, I agree. I don't think any of the current castaways were ever on the island at any other point. Alex is a totally seperate character.

By the way Amarise, no, Alex's gender was never revealed. Danielle always referred to him/her by name, not gender-specific pronouns. The only time she said something different was when she let Sayid go, and he called her name one last time and asked "Who is Alex?" She turned around and answered "Alex was my child." She didn't specify son or daughter. So Alex could potentially be a boy or a girl. Tricky tricky tricky.

This is where I disagree with you Chrome. I think Alex was born before the research team left for their field study. S/he was probably a child (I'm thinking as young as 5, maybe as old as 10) when they ran aground on the island. The reason for this theory is that Danielle said they had survived for 2 months after the crash, and then something vague and bad happened to everyone and she killed them all. If her child was born on the island, I have a hard time accepting that she could lose a 2 month old and that the baby would still be alive. If she had the baby and it grew up with her for a few years or something, why doesn't she still have the kid?

Why would she take her child on a potentially dangerous research field study? That's a good point though, that "everyone was killed" after two months. But then, if everyone was killed, why would she interrogate Sayid about where Alex was? Assuming she believes Alex died with the others. I think that the two survivors were Danielle and newborn Alex, which would make sense since Alex would have been by her side at pretty much all times (if Alex got the sickness, she probably would have gotten it as well). So she and Alex hid away from the creatures in the jungle, both grew older, and one day Alex was kidnapped or something.

On another forum, some people brought up a potential spoiler that a plane or ship transporting zoo animals crashed on the island, and that's where the polar bears came from. But it doesn't make sense in that polar bears probably couldn't survive in a tropical climate. It does kind of remind me of Noah's Ark -- there are a lot of Biblical undertones on Lost (40 days, "Adam and Eve," Locke as a Christ figure) that might hold the key to the island's secret. Off the top of my head, I'm going to produce a theory that will hereforth be known as the Chrome Theory: The Island is the Garden of Eden, where life was first created. It doesn't make any sense right now, I know, but I need *a* theory to work off of!

Maybe it wasn't supposed to be dangerous. I can't remember, did she ever say their intended destination was the island? Maybe they were on their way to study the maturation of cucumbers in Georgia, but went offcourse and ran aground on some mystery island. lol

Plus, if both she and her husband Robert were part of the research team, who would have been taking care of their kid while they were gone for who knows how long? I was under the impression that they brought Alex along to live with them while they were studying whatever.

But then, if everyone was killed, why would she interrogate Sayid about where Alex was? Assuming she believes Alex died with the others.

That's why I think Alex saw his/her mother goin a little jungle-crazy and ran away from her after she killed Robert and all the others. Which is why she has no idea where Alex is. If that were true, Alex would have to be old enough to fend for him/herself in the wilderness. If his/her parents were field researchers, it seems reasonable to assume that they'd have taught their child basic survival techniques, at the least. Maybe s/he's been living off that knowledge for 16 years.

See, that's the thing. I don't think there IS any sickness. I think something happened to the others (possibly involving that black rock she mentioned) and she was somehow threatened by it or it frightened her or something, and she killed them because she thought she had to protect herself. Maybe she was already a little crazy in the bargain. *shrug*

Kidnapped by whom? Unless there are MORE people on the island, in which case this is getting to be a pretty darn big island. lol

I've heard theories that the island is like, some sort of alternate dimension or something. Which would explain the weirdo polar bears, to a degree. lol I dunno.
