I was just reading the current poll on the front page on getting frozen. It seems that's a popular theme on this site.

I was wondering... Do a lot of people get frozen? What are the more notorious reasons for getting frozen?

heh, for breathing wrong. TNT have autofreezers that will freeze you for getting too high a score on games, it gets that bad.

I have been on for 25 months, and have never been frozen, or gotten a warning, and I posted regularly on the BD Boards.

The fear of playing Neopets is getting frozen. Their freezing system is completely unfair and they don't even respond half of the time to those innocent players who get frozen. It's a sad, it really is.

I collect Usukis. PM me if you are selling the following: Jeran Usuki, Lord Kass Usuki, Bat Thing Usuki, Zafara Double Agent Usuki or Queen Fyora Usuki Doll.

Does it happen more often to people with multiple accounts?

I've been playing 39 months and never gotten frozen! :P

People are frozen for so much now. Sending gifts to their friends, getting a high score, posting something on the neoboards that a person disagrees with.
Like Usuki_Princess said, it is sad. :(

Yes - they very often assume that because accounts are signing on from the same computer, that those accounts are somehow cheating, using each other to gain neopoints unfairly. This can be the case, but usually isn't - and they don't so much care one way or the other, it seems.

If you have multiple accounts, only do the freebies on one of them. And don't restock on more than one of them. Don't play games on more than one of them.

As a matter of fact, just don't have multiple accounts. That seems to be the safest way to do it.

Yeppers, Freezing is pretty bad on Neopets. I was coming up on my 22 months on Neo with my old account and it got frozen for cheating at the flash games.. What was I really guilty of? Having 2 mil NP and getting a higher score than normal.

Will I ever get that account back? I doubt it.

Amazing what one can come up with when one is given a cardboard box and a roll of duct-tape!

My account is 43 months old, and I'm not frozen yet *touch wood*

But it has happened to a lot of people I know :(

I've had my account for almost four years. I got frozen two years in for "cheating on the flash games" -- something I've never done. It was either Meerca Chase or Volcano Run that did me in, because I'd played both right before I was frozen. VR is the more likely culprit, because a lot of people were getting unfairly frozen around that time for getting good scores in it. Anyway, I sent several e-mails to a couple staff members, actually got some personal responses(!), and got unfrozen after three months. I think it helped that I calmly explained I was a longtime player, knew the rules, and would never cheat, etc. I haven't had any problems since.

I had a main account, where I made all my money, la la la very nice, until their magic bank gave me 2 million neopoints because I was withdrawing neopoints. I know, exploiting glitches is just SO wrong, it was a ridiculous idea for me to do something i'd done every single day for the past however long. Nicely iced, and the staff wont reply to my mails now. Oh well.

I've been on for 27 months, never got a warning, but got frozen for some stupid reason they never stated. But I got unfrozen the next morning

hmm..i am not really sure how TNT determines whether a person is using multiple accounts to gain np. you see, TNT doesn't encourage account sharing and yet going by what shapu says, it means only one person per household can be playing neopets realistically. i figure if you and your other family members are playing on the same PC, it is safe to do your freebies spaced out. surely TNT are aware that there could be more than 1 player sharing a PC. i guess they are always trying to look out for patterns which may not be the most precise way to judge things. so if you do something like log in and out consecutively on say 9 accts to do freebies, you get frozen.

Well, upon reading through the thread again, let me remend my last statement. I've been playing off and on for the past 3 years, and have never been frozen. My current accounts are 18 months or so (I think, could be 13, can't remember), and I've had one warning. The warning was for typing PPT web address in a neomail. Like I said, I've got two accoutns, and transfer NP and items between the two pretty regularly. I obey the rules, don't get freebies from both accounts, don't scam, blah blah blah, and I've posted in the neochats more than a few times. Although I've never been frozen, I've had more than a few friends get frozen, and have been there when they got the message. One got frozen for making too high a score in a flash game. So forgive me for being a little paranoid. 8)

You aren't being paranoid. You are being smart  Don't think for a moment that your account is safe because sooner or later, you'll hit a glitch in a game that you never had a problem with before and get frozen for it. All I can say if that happens is that if you follow the rules, at least it's not your fault if you do get frozen!
