AC/DC is not the best classic rock band. They might be if a) all of their songs sounded just slightly different and b) if Angus Young could write a song that included more than three chords

The Beatles are a great band and really influenced a lot of music. I don't really care too much for them though because they didn't have the talent that Led Zeppelin possessed, their guitars were mainly chords, (although blackbird is nice), their singing was alright but nowhere near the vocal range of Robert Plant (Zeppelin). Their base player is hardly ever heard if not for a few songs, whereas John Paul Jones made a huge contribution to the band's success, playing many great bass riffs (as in the crunge). He also wrote most of the music (singlehandedly) for the album In through the out door, and his synthesizer is huge throughout the entire Zeppelin career. And last we come to the drumers, I'm not dissing ringo or anything but when it comes to drummers, John Bonham, is one of the best drummers to ever walk the face of the eart (there are a couple others I could mention, i.e. the drummer for the who) John Bonham was not only a great drummer but thanks to Jimmy Page's technical knowhow shot Bonham's drum sound through the roof, making his drum's louder and fuller than any others (ex. when the levee breaks)

Tragically Hip I can't comment on cause I don't know them and The Who is a great band but not nearly good enough to be considered for the best classic rock band of all time.

Thats why i love AC/DC they have a great sense of humor:

It may be the same song and same three cords but the songs are great either way and I can say with all the work Zeppelin put in to making good songs alot of AC/DC's songs sound better
