So named because it takes cookie cutter like bites out of live seals (and leaves them alive). Last I heard none had been found alive or seen alive; they just wash up on shore.

Those sharks probably havn't ever been seen because they live really deep in the ocean. They sure are cool looking, but I hope I never EVER see one.
