Well, sometimes we're not counted as a Scandinavian country, sometimes we are. Anyway, so you say Sweden.. well, then on which side of Sweden? And don't you dare to look at any map :D

Hehe, oh yes. And that's Hel-sin-kih, not Hel-sin-keeh :P All syllables are equal, so you don't put any extra preassure on for example "sin", steady state so to say.

Yes, I do love to tell every detail :P

I'd say on the right side, I know because it forms a humerous picture with sweden on the Euro currency, which wont be discussed here. And of course forgive me for the offence

Really, its kind of rude that you only put the States, even if you have your reasons.

I'm sorry if you find it rude, I didn't mean to be, but as of the time of posting, there are exactly 50% American votes and 50% "Others" votes, as I expected.

The problem is that it is a fact that any country other than America would only hold a very small percentage of votes on this forum, so I decided to only put America, whom I felt holds a large enough percentage to constitute its own category, and Others. This also encourages people to post and discuss the countries they come from. :)

Anyway, I edited the topic to keep the peace. :P

Why do I have the suspicion that this topic will be used later on to discriminate? I say this beacuse I know the US isn't the most popular country... to put it as mildly as physically possible (even though there's GOOD reason for it). Anyways, I'm on the net so often, I forget what country I'm in anymore. I just put down Neopia when they ask for my country! :P Maybe one day I'll look at an atlas and find where I am...

Anyone who isn't satisfied by living in America is free to join me in New Zealand, where there are about 6 times as many sheep as people :D (or something like that anyway) .

I'm from the USA, and my interest in places that aren't (or even remotely linked to it in any variety of ways) is steadily growing.

I know where Finland is! It's west of Russia and east of...a bunch of countries including Sweden? I'm only relatively sure of the relation to Russia because we're studying WWI, and Finland was exchanged to Germany from Russia with the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk and then made officially independent by the Treaty of Versailles.

Doesn't the lengthening/shortening of one vowel make "I'll see you tomorrow" into "I'll kill you tomorrow?"

Let's make it easy. It's on the right side of Sweden. :)

I don't think changing the sound of a vowel affects the sound of a consonant, in this case. :) The "e" sound in "see" is long. Shortening it would make "see" something a little like "sih" or "seh".

Don't be afraid to see the truth, even if no one wants you to. Be yourself and not a fool. Don't ever be afraid to speak your mind and listen to criticism. Dissent is keeps our country progressive and willingness to challenge yourself is what keeps yourself ever evolving.

Actually, it does :P

While "Tapaan sinut huomenna" means "I'll see you tomorrow", "Tapan sinut huomenna" means "I'll kill you tomorrow" :D

Also, our current relationship with Russia? Well, as long as they leave us alone I guess we are quite non-affected by them being on our left side in a major point of view... of course, thinking historically we still don't like 'em :P
