it is set in the present day, if you look at napolean's ID. it is just set in a little town way behind the times.

i must say, the movie was insanely good. i dont know why, it just was

i read an article a while ago that said it was the movie of the most resent generation, and i dont disagree.

Really it is? Sheesh.. had me fooled! lol

I honestly had no interest at all in seeing this film. After reading though how much most of you liked it I might just have to suck it up and go. Actually maybe not... we'll see.

Think about the Backstreet Boys song, too.. can't be set before 1999 - I'm pretty confident in that it's present day, or at least 2003.

Anyway, I'm proud to say I jumped on the Napoleon Dynamite bandwagon long before there even was a bandwagon XD

Kip's my favorite, by far.. "How 'bout some gold bracelets?"

Oh yeah... I remember when that song came on. Me and the bf were trying to determine whether or not that was a boyband song going (we don't listen to that sorta music so we didn't know :P lol). Heh.......

Good quotes:
"I see you're drinking 1%, is that because you think you're fat? Cause you're not! You could drink whole if you wanted to!"
"What are you gonna do today Napoleon?"
"Whatever I feel like I wanna do, GOSH!"
"Come get your dinner you fat lard"
"I'm drawing a Liger, it's a cross between a Lion and a Tiger"
"Don't be angry just because I've been chatting online all day with hot babes"
"Could you bring me my chap stick?"
"No Napoleon"
"But my lips hurt really bad!"
"Ask the school nurse to use hers, I know she has atleast 5 in her drawer."
"I'm not using hers you sicko! *hang up* THAT FREAKING IDIOT! GOSH!"

Haylie Duff was hilarious in this movie.
And so was the guy that played Napoleon.

Neither do I, I just happened to be in middle school while they were in their prime. And I also have a knack for picking up completely useless trivia (but yet I can't remember anything important, like test answers..)

I wish I had. I would have, only a while ago I promised to a friend of mine that he could 'take my napolean dynamite virginity' so I have to watch it the first time with him.

i was on the bandwagon before the TV commercial ended XD

I saw it yesterday, and wasn't too impressed. It kept confusing me... I don't think it had a really firm plot. There were some parts that were funny, but... all in all, its not one that I'd buy (we rented it from my mom's work).

It was too slow paced during the whole thing. But it was kind of funny... I like at the end, during the credits or whatever, the Wedding where he comes riding in on a horse.

That movie was pretty pointless...no plot...really weaird middle but there were some funny parts like " GOSH I HATE Uncle Rico he eating all of the steak! " or " Oh Napolean your just jelous because i've been chatting with hot babes all day" or " Oh well me and Monique ( i thik that was her name) are getting pretty serious. Wev'e been chatting for two hours straight now" Most of the time it was pretty stuid. Like Napolean always looked like his eyes were squinted and his buck teeth were hanging out
