Aren't you 10? How is your friend getting alcohol?

...That's what I'm trying to work out  Considering it's illegal and all.

His friend may be much older. Or they could have gotten it from family members or friends

By the way, I've heard that people smoke to relieve stress. But I've also read that smoking does not relief stress, but rather, the act of not smoking is stressful and unpleasant for a habitual smoker, and he needs to smoke to overcome the withdrawal symptoms. Rather like taking drugs.

Still illegal. :P

I have the occasional drink on holidays but I'm not completely enamored with drinking it. Given the choice I'd much rather have a nice fizzy soda.

Not if your parents give it you. Not here, anyway.

I went out partying on thursday and friday, nothing better than spending £100 on Sambuka, Vodka, Jack Daniels and tequila in two nights. Well in my opinion anyway. =:0)

Not yet. But trust me, once I leave my house for Uni, I'll be partying. Most likely drinking and probably some smoking but I don't think I'll get hooked on it.

Everyone says that. It's pretty naive actually.

You have a point. Perhaps I over-exaggerated but I will go to a few parties. But I most likely will try drinking and smoking -- not because I want to "rebel" but just to see what all this hype about both of these leisures are.

Might I suggest not trying it, even if you want to because in the long run if you try it, you'll regret it.

Thats what practically everyone who drinks (that I know) says. Oh I'm just going to try it to see what its all about. Next thing you know they are alchoholics.

No, I don't quite agree with that. Trying alcohol is fine as long as you don't drink every day and begin to need to drink.

On the other hand, you can get hooked on cigarettes from just one drag. They're a pretty pointless thing to smoke really, they do nothing except make you smell.

Never drank (or is it drunk? Ohhh, MAJOR PUN!) beer. Never had a smoke in my life. I never will.

Agreed. I can understand if you want to try out a popular restaurant or watch a TV programme that is overhyped just to see what a big deal it is about, but trying smoking is like trying drugs, IMO. They are both addictive, waste money and harmful to your body.

If your not a smoker, how would you know? And if your a smoker, why are you commenting on it...?
