Officially.

I'd consider "officially" beginning when one makes a concious effort to stop eating meat. =)

No, no. I consider "officially" when one has agreement with their family and can say "I'm Vegetarian" rather than "I've stopped eating meat"

Also, I started it, so my consideration goes.

going on 11 years since i've eaten meat. the first month or so is difficult, but that's what fake meat is for. now i barely even eat that.

i accidentally ingested a teensy bit of pork about five years ago (it was from a half-and-half pizza), and i was sick for three days. vomiting and stomach cramps. i think that says something about meat.

just the thought of eating the flesh of an animal makes me ill. but i don't mind when other people eat it. hell, my boyfriend's favorite food is steak.

I've considered becoming a vegetarian for many reasons, but it's never actually happened. The main reason for this is that I could never live without meat, my family(with the exception of my sister) is huge on meat. It's such a large part of my diet that eliminating it completely would almost be impossible.

Meat = Good. *Watches New Zealand Meat propganda ad*

I've never considered it and never will unless i'm told to be a vegetarian by my cardiologist (she's the only person alive who can get me to stop eating food. And thats only because she knows more then me).
According to her, it's good that I eat meat. Therefore, I continue eating meat.
I don't find anything wrong with killing animals for food. My brother, his mother in law, his brother in law, his sister in law and his wife all work at a slaughter house (small town), and I have no problem with that. I know where all the bits of food comes from, and quite frankly... I don't care.
I eat lamb quite happily. I'm not so big on veal (just don't like the taste), and I have no problem with eating intelligent creatures such as octopus.

I like meat. And thats my choice. I don't find being a vegetarian wrong, more power to you if thats what you want to do! I love quite a few vegetarian recipis, so I have no problem with eating the food. (i'm in art school for cripes sake, half the people in my program don't eat meat!) But I do find it wrong to say that people who eat meat are wrong and sick for doing so. If it's your personal preference not to eat meat fine, but don't judge others who do so.

Yes, my connection and I are vegetarians. ;)

I have no idea what my classification is, however... I eat things like cheese, milk, and yogurt, though. :O

And, if they are made right, I like hamburgers, too... if they aren't made right they are gross. But I still like them... and I am confusing.

I think its safe to say I am not a Vegetarian. ... I eat a lot of meat.

Medli's connection is, though. Once I was chatting with her, and left for a second to get some meat from the dinner, and right when I came back it disconnected her. :P

:roflol:

I'm not vegetarian. I need my steak. <3 Sowwy Medli-San. Will you still kidnap Smitty for me?

I'm a vegetarian. My friend Danny and I decided to see if we could. So far, it's been doing good. I never really liked meat in the first place. I don't care if people eat meat or not, as it's my personal choice that I don't. Honestly, I just think meat tastes and looks pretty gross. X.X;; Right now I'm loving pasta with garlic, broccoli, cheese and red pepper. Sooo good. *drool*

X___X;; Yeah, but I like it anyway. My friend keeps sending me fact sheets on cheese and milk. I'm going to strangle that kid...But yeah, I must have my dairy products. *sniffles*

Yes, I'm vegan. I was pescetarian starting May almost two years ago (but called myself vegetarian because I didn't know what the difference was), went vegetarian a few months after that, and then went vegan in December. Now the thought of eating meat or really any type of eggs or dairy disgusts me.

I ate a LOT of meat before I went vegetarian, and a LOT of dairy before I went vegan, but other than occasional cravings (and one or two tiny cavings-in right after I went vegan) it was easy for me.

Medli, from the sound of that, you are lacto-ovo (unless you eat fish?) I believe it's:

Lacto-ovo: Eats dairy and eggs, but no meat.
Lacto: Eats dairy, but no eggs or meat. (Therefore, ovo would eat eggs but no dairy or meat.)
Vegan: No animal products.
Pescetarian: Eats fish, dairy, and eggs but no other types of meat.

Ah, thanks.

I'm Lacto then. :O

Not a vegetarian of any kind. Meat makes me happy. I know that sounds really wierd, but it does...

*sigh*

I am ethically against eating animals, yes. But I don't have a lot of willpower and it bothers me horribly everytime I have to go off to McDonalds or something, though I love the food. I have considered it MANY times, but never been able to pull it off. It's one of the main things I dislike about myself.
