Heh heh heh... 8)

For the longest time, I'd always remarked how similar The Romantics' "What I Like About You" and John Cougar Mellencamp's "R-O-C-K in the USA" sounded...
Then one day I did something about it. :)

Since then I've made a few more of these bootleg mixes (also known as "mash-ups"), improving my technique each time:
- Rick James's "Super Freak" vs. MC Hammer's "U Can't Touch This"
- MC Sar & the Real McCoy's "Run Away" vs. No Mercy's "Where Do You Go"
- Aqua's "Barbie Girl" vs. Papaya's "Pink Dinosaur"
- Madonna's "Into the Groove" vs. Madonna's "Causing a Commotion"

All of the above can be found on my mixes page.
If your media player can't play Ogg Vorbis files (I know that Winamp can), download and install the Ogg DirectShow filters, found here.

Every... single... song... the... same...

Hehe. One of my friends pointed me to this one:
Nickelback vs. themselves - How You Remind Me of Someday
(Ignore the .MPEG extension your browser may try to save this with; it's an MP3 file.)

I also highly suggest Stark Effect's bootleg mixes, especially "Under Ice". :)

The barbie girl... papaya one... burns my ears.
Must... get that sound out of them.
But the USA ROCK and... What I like about you were almost dead on; which was frightning.
Wow.
Very impressive.
But still, burning ears.

Oh wow. Since I already like both of those songs.. wow. I love the way they sound smushed together **saves file** I am such a geek XD

Now I've heard that before, and it never gets less disturbing/stupid.

EDIT:

Doesn't Superfreak sample Can't Touch This?

It is; "Super Freak" was from 1982-ish, while "U Can't Touch This" was more like 1990.
I noticed, however, that "U Can't Touch This" was slightly faster and slightly higher-pitched than "Super Freak"; it turned out that all I had to do to get them to line up was to lower the samplerate a little, and then it was just a matter of deciding where to make the cuts. :)

Blah, that's what I meant to say.

You know, if you play two of their songs at exactly the same time, one backwards and one forwards, they have the same guitar patterns. Pretty sad o_o

*shakes head* Nickelback really do suck. -_-

Holiday by the Beegees and Holiday by Green Day are almost identical.

*thinks about it* You're right! All of Three Days Grace's songs do sound alike, and they all seem to be about the same thing. Bah humbug! I agree with Andrew W.K's songs all sounding alike. And I should know, my brother had a stage in his life when he was OBSESSED. Thankfully it only lasted about a month, but it was bad.

Oh it was bad.
