Yeah he plays the boss o.O;;

The show was alright.
I think the guy who plays the boss is hilarious though. I loved him in Anchor Man (even though I hated the movie)... and that part in Bruce Almighty was hilarious.
Hard to judge the show on just one episode though... but it was just alright.

I spent half of it with my hands over my eyes in horror, but occasionally peeked out.

Yes.
Family Guy and now Arrested Development.

4. When did Family Guy get pulled? *world falls apart*

5. THAT'S UNTHINKABLE 2DTV IS TOO FUNNY TO BE AMARICANIZED!

¬.¬ I'm sick of america stealing our shows...
Anyway... sorry for all the quoting but I got a lot of information from this thread...

Americans can't do satire. *sigh*

Well. They can. But when they do it almost always ends up getting cancelled. If it doesn't get cancelled, it's because the execs are too stupid to realise it's satire.

I saw in since I have off school today. It was great. I liked when he did the minority thing at the end, also when he told the girl she was fired, and when he shot the fax into the trash can. The whole show was great.

Family Guy isn't cancelled on FOX. Aren't they bringing it back on May 1? I know Global is but I heard FOX was bringing it back too.

And isn't one of the actors in "The Office" played the mayor of Whoville in the movie, "How The Grinch Stole Christmas"?

I can think of one American sitcom that does not rely on punchlines, and that's FOX's Arrested Development. Instead the show uses *GASP!* brilliant dialougue and sight gags.

And now the show is being discontinued. Why? Lack of viewership. *shakes angry fist at the boatloads of reality shows*

Good thing I snatched up the season 1 DVD <3

You're forgetting Scrubs, and ... :o ... it's on the same network as The Office! :o

Oh and I saw the premiere last night...it was just okay...little funny bits, but not as hillarious as Scrubs. :D

*World remakes itself*
I'm happy now!

I never knew that about Family Guy!

And the best actor is the one who is on the daily show, was in anchorman, and bruce almighty.

I actually thought he was the weakest part of the show. Ricky Gervais (the original boss) was convincing as a boss whereas this guy simply felt like an actor doing a bit. Since the 1st episode was really just a scene-by-scene recreation of the first original British episode, the constrast was glaring.

I read in USA Today that further Office episodes will have original plots. Maybe then "that Daily Show guy" will get better as he won't try too hard to copy Gervais's character. That is, if the show isn't cancelled by then.

The mayor guy is in Arrsted Development I think :/ not sure

I saw teh show and I thought it was kinda boring at times :/

If only americans lived on an island where it rained all the time and all you had to do was chat maybe then we would be clever and witty.

I didn't say I liked him as the boss :P I just said I liked him in the other things I've seen him in :D
The show looks like it could be funny, but I just didn't think the first episode was. There were chuckle moments.. but that's about it.
