Aaw... The brothers. They were a source of amusement! I wish it was non-elimination... they've only had one and aren't there 3? With 5 teams left in the race, and 2 non-elimination rounds, they will be used really close together... I agree that this was a horribly unfair leg and the non-elimination would have been suitable here.

I hate that the two teams I hate the most had a steady lead and therefore weren't going to get eliminated...

No kidding... I hate Rob and Amber and that other team... mainly b/c of the girl though b/c she's a nag and a half.

I'll miss the brothers but I would have missed Meredith and Gretchen more. I couldn't believe it the second time the gay couple had to get a replacement car. I think they were going for an Amazing Race record :) . Teams did pass each other at the detour but that was the only real place to catch up to anybody. The ignorant comment of the week goes to the gay couple about Uechenna and Joyce balancing the stuff on their heads, "They were born for this. It's their African roots coming through." Yeah, I'm sure all people in the U.S. with African ancestors are great at balancing things ;)

NO! There goes one of my top three! ;O;

Their outfits were hilarious, though. XD

Wed Apr 06, 2005 4:03 am

Yeah.... I so wanted it to be a non-elimination. Not just because I loved the brothers.. but because it would've been HILARIOUS if they had to continue with just their swim trunks, scarf and goofy hats!
*sniffles* I'll miss those big doofus's

Wed Apr 06, 2005 4:59 am

Pehehe. I was hoping for those guys to be non-eliminated too.
How horrid would it be to finish the race in that manner.
COLD?! WHAT IF ITS COLD?! >D

Going to agree with Bruces Galore in the most ignorant comment. That gay couple is starting to annoy me. How could they say that >.> *crush*

Aanyway. R & A Back on top! WOoooha!

This episode was not fair AT ALL.
There wasn't even a catchup spot this episode.
Whoever was in last place unless they were only last by a few minutes was going to be last place this episode and that's NOT fair at all.
I know it was part of the bro's fault b/c they did mistake that one place as being the place with the right water towers, but still, they were still pretty darn far behind when the gay couple had to get TWO replacement cars and they were still far far ahead of them.
I don't think they should've had this episode an elimination.
I don't think it was fair at all and I'm PO'd.

I agree completely. I loved the brothers. They were my number 1 team. *Cries* They didn't have a place to catch up at all. They were about a half hour behind the rest to. Not to mention the car wreck from last ep. You'd think they'd make it non-elimination. *Sigh* But like they said, "At least we're going out in style!" They were sweethearts. I'mma gonna miss them. And the goofy outfits they could have been stuck in.

Lol, I thought it was hilarious when they put on their swim trunks! Especially since the gay guys (or one of them at least) had put on several layers since they thought THEY would be eliminated. All that work for nothing :P

But man, it seems that everybody was having problems with the instructions. Two teams went to a wrong water tower, the black couple didn't pull out the post, the old people didn't get the last clue. I was thinking it was all getting really pathetic

But it's too bad the brothers had to be eliminated. They were the only team I really liked. :(

I honestly don't care that the brothers are gone. They really didn't do anything besides goof around. Sure, they were competition but their "intelligence" got in their way.

Is Meredith and Gretchen the longest lasting old couple? They seem like it. They knocked off two strong teams. Ha.

And go Romber once more! I swear, they're going to win. I love Romber!

Don and Mary Jean (if you don't count Teri and Ian who were only a few years older than Chip and Kim) held the title for the longest lasting senior couple but that was only because the first elimination leg was bumped down to one of the first legs. They were then eliminated the leg after that.

Merideth and Gretchen now holds the title and who knows? They might keep going with it ;)

I also disagree with the people that said that this leg is stupid because there were no BUNCHING UP. If I was in the race and had a five hour lead only to be ruined by a BUNCHING up point, I'd be really really mad and frustrated.

When watching this show, the only time that I like seeing bunching up is when one of my favorite teams are lagging behind hence giving them a chance to catch up to the other teams. Last season was horrible with bunching up, it had it in every episode.

Also, all the teams departed at no more than thirty minutes away from each other with the smallest time between departing being one minute with Ron and Kelly and Rob and Amber. The Brothers were only a few minutes behind Merideth and Gretchen meaning that they could have caught up with them easily but made wrong decisions and messed up along the way causing them to lose valuable time.

The Brothers (from an interview) said that they were hours behind the other teams so even if they didn't change into their swimming trunks, they still would have been last. They were horrible racers last tuesday and they also said that they spent thirty to forty minutes just trying to get the goats.

Bottom line is, even if they were first-fifth to depart, they still would have gotten last place.

Bottom line is, it wasn't a particularly fair leg, despite whatever you come up with to make you favorite team sound so high and mighty.

What are you trying to say? I'm a huge fan of the brothers and how could it have not been a "FAIR" leg?

Losing your ___ hour(s) lead because of a bunching up can be argued as "not fair" and I actually liked that there was no bunching up in this leg and teams got to keep their lead.

You clearly misunderstood what I said because not only did the Brothers SUCK in that previous leg, they could have also caught up pretty easily with the other teams but instead they ended up HOURS behind them.

They a long time at the wrong Water Tower
They spent thirty-forty minutes at the goats jsut trying to chase thema round
They had to stop because Brian thought he saw a Lion

It was clearly not their best leg. Don't accuse me of trying to make "my favorite team" look almighty over other teams. I was just trying to explain the best way I can.

Maybe I misunderstood what you posted but whatever

Merideth and Gretchen took a while at the wrong water tower as well.
For the goats, no duh. After seeing their buddies get chased around then milked for all they were worth, they aren't going to run openly into their welcoming arms.
For the lion.. Who cares. That took about 4 seconds.

I think some of you are being somewhat hypocritical with what you say. You accuse me of trying make Merideth and Gretchen sound all mighty and high when its quite obvious that you like the Brothers as well....w/e

The Brothers were only eight minutes behind Merideth and Gretchen and they took a wrong turn FROM THE VERY BEGINNING. They were lost for about forty minutes and they even said that they NEVER saw a team during that whole time (whole leg).

Merideth and Gretchen made a lot of mistakes and I really think that they deserved that ranking but they actually only spent a few minutes at the wrong water tower (other teams could have stopped there too but it could have just been edited out because they might have only needed one scene to introduce the wrong water tower to the viewers so that when the Bros get there the viewers know where it is).

That leg was unfair. There was really no way for the leads to change, they should of had an airport flight. If that was nonelimantion Brian and Greg would be done with the clothes they had on.
