I will have liked to have one of those until I looked at the site and saw how much it was. I guess if you consider the work put into it, $50 isn't too much to ask, tho!
Actualy if you know much about the world of barbie (I know a bit, luckly not through personal expeience) $50 isn't necessarly very much to pay for a custom designed, doll and outfit especialy one that expresses thematic elements and replicates another design in detail.
On the other hand the target market for this doll is probably different

That's pretty cool. Browsing her site was fun, since I'm a bit of a designer myself X) Just in drawings though. *sigh* She should make a Jhudora one :O!

Lol, that's funny.

Although it looks more like an Illusen-Wannabe, it's still evident that the creator put a lot of work into it.

*tries to stifle laughter*

Wow, I can't believe someone made an illusen barbie! It looks pretty good though!

Yeah but it is just a one-off, the neopets legal team aren't gonna pounce on her. I mean, do you think they'd sue you if you sold 3 clay model neopets you'd made for $17 each?

Nope, she's not allowed to sell it, because its based on Neopets copyrighted images and ideas.

Yes, dear, I know copyright law, but the written law and real life are slightly different things. If she had a large front-yard store and was churning out hundreds of illusen dolls without a license, then yes, she would get sued. Selling one doll will not get her into court.

*Growls*
Don't laugh, It is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.
I would pay thousands for it.
I am going to save up $50.00, and I am going to buy it no matter what.
Where did you see she was selling it?

Good for you!

Illusion's listed at the owner's
dolls for sale page, and I guess you'd have to use the contact form that's there for purchasing.

Actually someone once had a wonderfully done "custom" ghost aisha plushie on ebay, I wanted to bid on it but it was already getting quite expensive. Then the auction disappeared. From what I can remember the legal team got involved and it turns out the person had to send the plushie to Neo, wasn't allowed to just keep it for themselves let alone sell it.
So, no technically this person is not allowed to be selling this. But I do applaud the work that went into it. Barbie clothes are not easy to make! let alone the hair and makeup paint job she did. My best (real life) friend would love that doll!

Ok, so if I just go into a bank and only steal $10, that's not going to get me arrested, right? I mean, they don't bust you for only breaking the law a little, isn't that what you're saying?

She could always say it isn't Illusens... Its just a green doll with wings
If she entered that pic in the the art gallery i'm sure she'd win.
