Carrie isn't the best, no offense. Half the time, I don't know what she's singing. And I don't think she'd sell better than Kelly Clarkson due to the fact, Idol winners or contestants aren't doing very well in the music industry besides Clay and Kelly.

Saying that a contestant would win due to race would mean that American Idol is rigged. And I sincerely doubt that it is rigged, wouldn't make sense to me if it was.

I doubt so. In my personal opinion it seems like it could be rigged.. take this as an example:

Last season John Stevens was voted off right before Big Band week, the time he would be the star of the show. The following week, George Huff was voted off right before Disco week, which we all know he would master with his overall energetic attitude.

Of course, that could be pure coincidence, but I take it as they had to get rid of John and George before the weeks where they would shine, because they didn't want them around that deep into the competition.

Also, back on the racial issue, every year it has been a white and a black (or some variation) person in the final two. For three straight seasons I doubt it's just an odd happening of events.

Maybe it's because i'm Canadian... and to me race has never been an issue. Black, white, brown, purple, multi colored or even chrome, you're still a human. *shrug*

To me color doesn't matter. And I sincerely hope that it does not matter to those on AI. Perhaps it's a great naiveity on my part to hope that, and to think that it's all a little coincidence, but we'll see. Everyone whose won AI in my opinion has been the deserving winner out of the bunch. So, *shrug* I really don't see what the issue is.

The only purple person I've ever seen is a dead person. No offence to anyone who's dead at the moment.

I personally am not bothered by color as well. One of my best friends is Laocian/Chinese, so I can't say anything. I had many black friends back when I lived in Michigan.

But...honestly, is this a topic about color, or American Idol?

Just to put the record straight, I have no issues with what color people are. It was just a theory.

Back on topic, I'm sort of tied between who will go this week. Part of me says Carrie, but the other part says Vonzell for the shockzorz factor.

wow, who said anything about anyone being against someone's color? you're right, shollia, my point was that AI most certainly tries for racial balance, so they won't be accused of favoring a certain race. race is definitely an issue, whether you think so personally or not. a white man will win, not because he's A White Man, but because a white male hasn't won yet.

medli, right on the nose again with spotting how rigged the show is. the judges know exactly who they want to win. you've got to remember, this is a television show, and it needs to sell albums afterwards. of course constantine, anwar, nadia, and other awesome contestants get kicked off before scott and anthony. because the producers know that people are going to keep watching (giving them the almighty ratings) to see when they're going to get kicked off.

carrie almost certainly won't win because she appeals to kelly's demographic, and kelly's doing great in the industry, so they don't need that market split like that. same for vonzell--they already have fantasia. i'm not saying bo doesn't deserve to win, because personally i think he does, but he WILL win because from a marketing standpoint, he's the best. and that's what the show is looking at: the marketing standpoint. not the votes. it's easy to vote because voting is free, but they want to think about which of those voters are going to be buyers. so i'm sure the votes are taken into some kind of consideration, but i'd be very shocked to find that the votes are the only thing that determine the winner. there's a lot of money on the line, too much to leave up to the unwashed masses.

and before you go getting all upset about the unwashed masses comment, just remember that that's how corporate CEOs think of all of you. AI is way more than a tv show. AI is a business.

So, this week is very important. I really hope Vonzell does well. i don't mind Bo, he is much better than Carrie any day. And whoever it was that pointed out that you can barely tell what she is singing, is very right. Her performances are not memorable, and last week on her second song, she was totally whupped by Anthony, who was hardly any competiotion for the others, as everyone thought. But Anthony still went home, i hope people aren't jsut voting for their favorites, but for whoever does well. i have voted for different contestants depending on their performance, even though i did have favorites.

Anthony couldn't sing nearly as well as Bo.
Bo sings differently, and thats what America likes about him.
I'm hoping it's Bo and Carrie to the final two.

Vonzell rocked tonight.
The 2nd song she sang, wasn't the best choice.

Carrie was...... meh.
I always wanted to hear her sing Shania Twain, and now that I have. I don't like it.

Bo, he had guts to sing it all on his own.
But, the only votes he will get are the ones that are just checking for fun to see if his line is free.

Carrie was awesome. I wish that Bo would go tommorow night but I'm pretty sure that Vonzel is going. I really don't like Bo but for some weird reason, America does. *sigh* Vonzell is so much better than Bo but Carrie rules them all.
