*shrugs* I always assumed the british called it Poh-Tah-Toe. Damn those stereotypical british people on television!

British people on telly say Poh-tah-toe?

Ye Gods.

They don't here.

From what I've seen.

But than again, I've seen them say it in sitcoms.

I think the only person who says Po-tah-toe in england is the Queen.

And her clones.

LOL
That'd be scary! An army of the Queens! ARGH
Imagion one killing you...
Queen clone: One is now going to shoot you. Awfully sorry chap but one's master told one to do it *idiotic posh laugh*

*shudder*

I'd doubt it, besides the Queen is ill with the cold! It's more like Poh-*sniff*-Toh-*cough*-Toe. Duh.

No, I don't think the Queen does.

Queen's English would be 'po-tay-toe just in a posh accent.

Who on Earth say Poh-tah-toe? Apparently someone does! Are they lyings, or is it because of their accent? Jesus.

*raises hand* I clicked that option, missus. But I read the "tah" to sound as "tair" without the "r" sound.

In my book there are three pronunciations: poh-tay-toe, poh-tair-toe or poh-tuh-toe. Poh-tuh-toe obviously sounds stupid. :P

In the song it's more like 'Potarto'

I've always wondered who said it like that! Not even you, really.

No, she lives within walking distance of my school, which is most definitely in Massachusetts.

Poh-tay-toe. Saying it the other way is weird. :P

Wed Jun 22, 2005 10:33 pm

Poh-tay-toe

The other way sounds stupid.

Wed Jun 22, 2005 11:01 pm

I don't think anyone, even the British, say "poh-tah-toe." O_o

I go for the former.

Thu Jun 23, 2005 12:11 am

Tay!! lol I tried saying it the other way and I sound funny, it's like I'm trying to talk with an accent or something.

Thu Jun 23, 2005 1:43 am

Po-tay-to.
But I think just for the sake of my own amusement I shall start to say po-tah-toe.

Potatoes are one of the most ubiquitous food stuffs here, but thanks to the way my brother cooks them they have come to been known as stench root.
