Christianity, all be it very loosely. I was brought up that way but I do not go to church and I have my own beliefs. One of which being that beneath all the customs and aesthetic differences I believe all religions are the same, or more correctly have the same roots. And yeah Catholicism is no more seperate from Christianity than any other sect, I've yet to find a Catholic who thinks they aren't Christian, hehe x)

Religion makes no difference to me :)

I don't think he meant anything by it, other than it being a rather large part of the Christianity tree.

Oh, not blaming him for it, just gave my opinion about the matter :)

oh, sorry, I didn't mean it in a "Psh! Don't be mean way" I was clarifying

sorry about that, Silja =)

I don't really know. My family is Catholic, but I just don't believe some of the stuff I'm supposed to believe about that religion. I believe in evolution, but I also believe in God, and that both had a part in the creation of the world; evolution making people, God making the universe itself. So I don't know what I am. I'm somewhere inbetween Aethiestism and Catholicism probably, like Chass. I voted for Catholicism, though, because that's what I've grown up on.

I am Jewish. I could've turned out part Christian, but I don't think my mom was baptised, so, no. I could've also turned out Christian if the Romanian branch of my family tree wasn't introduced.

I'm Jewish (reform), and I follow most of the practices and keep the holidays. I was bat mitzvah'd, and I just got confirmed this year. Spiritually, though, I consider myself somewhat of an agnostic... I think it's just as likely that a deity exists as that one doesn't, but I feel I have no way of knowing what the right one is, and any way of my picking would be more than a little arbitrary. So, I accept that I really can't know, and I worship primarily as a Jew, because that's what's most comfortable and natural for me.

(I actually wrote a whole paper on this for my Confirmation class, so I could ramble on for hours, but I'll spare you all.)

I'm a baptised Catholic, but haven't been confirmed and don't have exceedingly strong beliefs.

I'm agnostic. I don't agree entirely with any religion, really- I believe in God, though, if only because I figure someone must have started the Universe and everything. Though I must admit, I can't think of how that someone came into existence...

I'm a Shinto/Taoist mixture, which is very odd because my dad and grandmother are Catholic and my mom is Wiccan.

I don't have one, I self worship.

Mon Jun 27, 2005 7:24 pm

Atheistic, but believe in the supernatural and have spirituality in terms of courage, freedom and so forth.

Mon Jun 27, 2005 7:31 pm

I'm Agnostic. I believe there's something out there but there's no way of knowing what it is, I don't believe in structured religion.

Mon Jun 27, 2005 7:54 pm

what i believe doesnt have a word (probably anyways?!)

i believe in the order born of chaos, that from the greatest catastrophe comes restructure.
from great despair and suffering comes loyalty and closeness.

not a bad way to live as far as Maxims go really.

Qanda wrote:Clarification: I listed Christianity and Catholicism separately because they are usually considered as separate beliefs, and there are a large amount of believers for either side, so I thought they should each qualify for a category of their own.

Also, there were only a limited number of options I could use for the poll, so I could not list every major religion. My apologies for missing out yours, if I did. Just select "others" and state what your religion is. :)

And lastly, remember not to discuss or criticise, or this thread may be locked if things get unpleasant...

I'm going to have to take out the Catholicism, because it is indeed a branch of Christianity and as such is not an official 'faith'.

I checked Agnosticism, though it's a bit like Church-going agnosticism. Go Anglicans!

"Other" I am not religious at all. I know I had asked my mom at some point what religion I was and it was between Baptist and Lutheran. It's just something I don't think about.

EDIT: After reading many other posts... I am assuming that I am Atheist... O_o By the way it sounds but I still think I would prefer "Other" because I am not religious at ALL.

Athiest. My parents are both Christian (which sect I've never bothered to check...plus we never went to church), but, for some reason they decided not to raise me the same way they were raised. So I guess they might have wanted me to choose my own religion, but just choosing a religion when I've never believed in one single religion in my life would be quite...weird, frankly.
