:( It's not fair... I loved Old Richie! He was great!

I just need to ask on thing though:

Who's going to present Countdown now?!?!?!?!?!?

Carol? No because she'd have to run back and forth from the numbers to the desk.

Suzie? No... she's too... boring...

WHO?!?!?!?!

There's always the possibility that they'll find someone else and Countodwn will carry on...

But Richard Whitley was Countdown - without him it just wouldn't be the same. 61's no age these days :(

It wouldn't be the same without twice-nightly.

What about Craig Charles? (You know the guy plays Dave Lister on Red Dwarf) Craig Charles is definitely funny and that is for sure. Maybe he could present Countdown.

What fresh hell would that be. O_O

Mon Jun 27, 2005 9:08 pm

They're not going to continue it. Thank God.

Mon Jun 27, 2005 9:10 pm

chanel four will continue to show the episodes that whitely filmed.
after that who knows, nothings been decided as far as i know.

I want them to repeat the series with the guy who looked 'mentally ill' (there's no nice way to say it) but was a genius.

I have to fully agree ith Carole in her statement that she released today.

Richard was special and unique. They can never find someone to replace him. If the continue Countdown, it will change, as there is just no-one who he is like. The closest person I can think of off hand is... Richard from Richard and Judy, being relaxed, but... He can't replace him.

We need someone who is friendly and takes humour from submissions. Someone who is just... clumsy, in a way. Someone who isn't afraid to just laugh, and just make a fool of himself. You don't want a comedian.

Craig Charles is too ruthless, and out of place.

craig charles is a very differant kind of funny.
in that he is.
no offence intended, but the few times that i did, i wasnt watching for his humour.

Whiteley was a bumbling, clumsy and silly presenter and was lovely.

Mon Jun 27, 2005 9:48 pm

he got a giggle nothing more.
still, good presenter, and will be sorely missed by those who knew him.
and i suspect many others too.

I know I'll miss the little grey haired man...

Ah the times I spent watching him, Carol (bleh I hate her to...) and Suzue Dent (Stuck up, Oh I know all the words in the world, fart. Take away that Dictionary she be crap!).

I loved the Teatime Teasters (Yes I do watch Countdown. Surprised?). I was crap at the actual letters game but I could do alot of the numbers!

... I'm really going to miss the guy. Countdown wouldn't be the same without him, but I'll still miss it.

Goodbye old chap! (As he used to say) We'll miss you.

I deserve to die? WAAAAAAAAoh your probably right. anyway, I think it's a damned shame that he died. Like many people have already said, he was countdown. May he Rest In Peace and continueto entertain in whatever is after here.

What upsets me is that he looked just like my old headmaster. Just like him.
