i agree, i am really looking forward to seeing this one. i've been looking forward to seeing it since i heard jonny depp was cast as willy wonka. i think he'd do a great job, i think he's a really good actor, everything i've seen him in, which granted isnt that many films, he's been really good in. particuarly pirates of the carribean, which makes me think he'd make a great willy wonka.

I'm a big Roald Dahl fan and a big Tim Burton fan so this is my ultimate dream!
I don't like the original film and did you know that Roald Dahl didn't like it either?

Yeah, he hated so much he wouldn't give permission for Charlie And The Great Glass Elevator to be made.

It should be excelent! Tim Burton is an awsome director and with Johnny Depp I'm sure it'll be very entertaining. lol
I heard one of the songs was redone by maroon 5, sounds pretty cool. Can't think of the name though, haven't heard it in a while.

I completely agree with Sapphire Faerie. In the book, the Oompa-Loompas were, like, from South America, not Mars. I don't think that Gene Wilder did a very good job at all in the older film. Willy Wonka was supposed to be happy and frisky. Johnny Depp will do much better. I do wish they made Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator into a movie though. There are some good funny jokes in there.

As for the Wonka candy, they carry it at every movie theater here... and have for over a year.

Me too. I think it was the point.

Quite frankly I wouldn't take candy from a Johnny Depp.

"Commere kids...would ya like some caaaannndy? It's in my...factory...yes...lots of nice caaaaannndy..."

I'm worried that it won't be scary enough. Roald Dahl intended for the book to be strange, and scary.

I prefer the term 'unnerving'.

I saw the extended trailer as well as a kind of "the making of" short show. They showed some cuts from the movie and it kind of cracked me up about some of the stuff Willy says, it's naughty.

Like someone says:

"You mean the grass is edible too?"

Willy: Yes of course. Everything in this room is eatable..I mean edible. Even I am edible, but that children is called Canibalizm, which is frowned upon in most cultures."

Willy: Did you know that chocolate gives one the feeling of being in love? *looks over at Violets mom* *Violents mom looks enticingly back* LOL!

I found a transcript of the old movie.

The funny thing is while I wouldn't take candy from Depp as Wonka, I WOULD take candy from captain Jack Sparrow. He just looks more approachable XD

Johnny Depp could hand me a lump of dirt and I'd take it. He's fine. <3

I can't wait - I'm going to see the movie in two hours! I've seen the clips there are of the movie now... they're hilarious. If you haven't seen them already, what are you waiting for? They're on Yahoo, I think.
