I had an awesome Canada Day! The fireworks at The Forks were great this year. :D

Here's my thing with fireworks.

They always end the exact same way; something blows up. No matter what happens, it always ends exactly the same. Its like a crappy chick flick or, better yet, the US presidential election. You know the rich white guy is going to come out on top in the end, but its still fun to watch every time.

For a thread like this, don't you find the political commentary a bit inappropiate?

Cold, eh?

I'm sure the Ontarians would definitely disagree... :P

Well, it can get cold in the winter here in Ottawa, but lately we have been having 35 degree days with the humidex.

Alberta was getting down to -50 to -60 with windchill... but thats nothing compared to what they get up North when it's ya know... -60 without wind chill. I had friends in my program from Whitehorse, and they liked to laugh at us for thinking it was cold.

My bad. It wasn't meant to be anti-american or anti-anything. For the record, we're no better. Only we'll get the rich white guy with french lineage so he can grab the Quebec vote. I mean Kim Campbell was in power for a whil and Belinda Stronach is willing to do whatever it takes to get there, but that doesn't count.

Anyhoo, back to my fireworks experience. The music was a bit of a let down. Apparently, people in the town I went to have been in a time warp for the past decade. It was like Canada Day 1987. Excessive Tina Turner is never a good thing. Its probably just as painful to us as it ended up being for Ike. Not that I have a problem with th 80s music scene or anything. I mean they had... y'know. That one band... with the hair. And leg warmers.... and stuff..

ok let's face it. It was crap. The only good thing that came out of the eighties was us.
