Haha. The other day I was remarking on how my dad's name must be the most common male name in the world. I was close. He's in the top 5!

Just realized, my name is the most common out of all of the people that posted. I thought Robert was less common, common but not #3.

My theory is that people think names are less common than they are because of nicknames. Robert has a bunch- Bob (I think Bob is for Robert o.O), Rob, Robbie; the list is endless. Whereas you don't see as many just plain 'Robert's walking around. In conclusion, people see Robert as a less common name.

Also, don't forget that this includes everybody from babies to old, old, old folks. Probably a lot of middle-aged and old men with the name Robert (or variation thereof) out there.

Thats true, I do know quite a few Bobs (forgot about them ). I would like to see this info, but changed to represent Canada, because Robert would be lower, and my last name would probably be higher, due to the amount of French names.
