I have seen both films and I choose Shrek as Independence Day was all that good compared to Shrek.

Seriously, I prefer comedy to mostg (sans Horror), so there wasn't much choice here.
Perhaps removing Shrek from the runnings soon would be wise? Put it in a hall-of-fame-esque gallery?

Or put it up against Shrek 2.
But than again, we wouldn't be eliminating the problem.
