I was watching TV when she got bored and started flipping through channels. I see soemthing about Harry Potter, so I ask her to stop. I wanted to know how many of the new books she had sold so far (thats what they usually talk about on every TV bit I'd seen up to that point). But it turns out they were talking about the person who died... and who killed them.
I stayed away from the internet... but they said it on the TV. I wasnt expecting it.

Nope, no one ruined book 6 for me. Though I wish someone had at some points. I'm currently torturing my bf though who hasn't had time to finish reading it yet, lol it's so funny every time he thinks I'm going to tell him something important.

Someone on another forum I'm on was stupid enough to post a link with the spoiler (and it included a picture of the page too grr) asking if it was true. How that person got a picture of the inside of the book before the book was released though escapes me.
Then people confirmed it was true, so I want to kick THEM too. D:

Just pointing that some people on this thread mentioned the sex of who died and I'd appreciate it if it wasn't mentioned. I would like to be completely left in the dark with this situation.

There really aren't that many characters of the opposite sex of the person who died in the books. It's not really a give away, it's somewhat obvious.

True, but I'd appreciate it if it wasn't mentioned. I don't want to know what gender died because that would ruin it a little for me.

I actually had no clue who died until I got to it... even after finishing it I'm still in a "what the heck" mode.

I strongly suspected who it would be . . . but annoyingly had it confirmed/spoiled by a fan site that has a strict no-spoiler policy. No, not in the forums, I was aware that someone could slip there. But on the news page, where it described a review that revealed too much. No, I didn't follow the link -- but the quoted portion, while not directly saying it, really did say it.
I would have preferred to read it in suspense, will it be the person I expect or not, rather than knowing from near the start.
