I will buy it once it's battery life is extended beyond 6 hours :)

Did you know that it has the potential to run at 333 Megahurtz? Faster than the PS2  But Sony is forcing all game companies to make their PSP games run at 222 max, so that the battery lasts longer. That is... until they develop a better battery :D

You can buy other batteries too, but they are anywhere from like $35 to $40.

The PSP's graphics are much better than the PS1's, and just about the same if not better than the PS2's.

By the way, Sony released a new version of the system software, 2.0. That's how I got on the internet. Here's some pics:

Sorry if the quality is bad, the pictures were taken on a Cybershot.

But yeah, if you're in a store and it's a Wi-Fi hotspot, it's all-you-want-PPT. :D

I'd get it, but that $250 price tag is keeping me away. That's almost my whole paycheck (which I don't feel like spending on one thing, and I want something now, not later. :P)

I have no problem with the batteries, as there are a ton of ways around that, I just need the price tag lowered, and for them to lose that "bundle".

Meh, well the price tag is one reason to stay away. Then there's the fact that there aren't enough really great games on it. And the standard battery life is low. And this is coming from a Sony Fanatic here :P

But then, I've got my faith in Sony. I'll buy the PSP in a few months, once the games library for it grows a bit and the standard battery life is extended.

And of course... lower price.

But portable PPT... well that is convincing :P

You couldjust buy a rechargable battery, or even better (depending where you are), a car or home adapter (they have those right?).

I think the PSP already has some decent games out. I'd get Untold Legends, Dynasty Warriors, Darkstalkers, and that one puzzle game that I can't be bothered to remember the name of. The others though... bleh...

Well, at least the PSP has some decent games out. :p

Well, uh, I don't think I need to tell you my stance on the PSP. My sig does that for me. But I will anyway. Currently, the PSP has no games that interest me that aren't games that I can play on my PS2. I see one whole game in the future that interests me and that CC FF7. DS on the other hand, (how many times do I have to say THIS?!) has about 50 games I want. Hmmmmm, tough choice.

Yes rbpnmm, we understand your stance on Nintendo vs. Everything Else.

And you are entitled to your own opinion. I myself have seen many of the DS games on sale, and to tell the truth, it doesn't appeal all too much to me. My neighbour has one, and I saw it and played it, and whilst it is pretty awesome, I wouldn't want to buy one anytime soon.

Aaannyway, DS doesn't have the Daxter game coming out on it :P That game will kick so much.... butt.

rbpnmn, you should link your picture to the official DS website, so that when people "touch" your signature, they are taken back by the DS and um... buy one. :p

rbpnmn, while we value your DS opinions... you're completely offtopic here. Keep that in mind next time eh?
<hr>
Regardless. My cousin gave me a PSP for my graduation present (which came to me as a COMPLETE surprise because I never hinted at getting one).

It's a very impressive little machine.
A game I would strongly suggest for you is Hot Shots Golf. Although it may be a bit cartoony for some of your tastes, but the gameplay is very impressive and the graphics are stellar. Replayability is great. I've had it for a month 1/2ish and I haven't gotten bored with it yet.

Madden NFL 06 has been getting really good hype and potentiality as well.

Something to clear up: Internet browsing access hasn't been implemented yet, so there's not "Portable PPT" as of yet. Perhaps soon. Just not yet :P

Although you can use a wireless hotspot to play with many other players who happen to be online at that time. Que awesome :P

There is an internet browser on the new software update. You must still have 1.52 or maybe even 1.50.

Bleh, well I still have to wait for the PSP regardless. It's coming out September 1st in Aus for $400 in the bundle pack.

I'll wait for it's price to drop to about $250 or so, and I'll consider buying it.

And rbpnmn, I believe there are a lot of good games on DS. No denying it. But most of those games are just ports from other systems, or from earlier Ninendo systems, with a few touch-ups. The only games that appeal to me from that list might be Metroid, Zelda, Harvest Moon and Advance Wars.

Bugger it, I'm not going to jump into a DS vs. PSP debate here. I'll buy a PSP because of the sheer power and promise of great games coming out for it. IF that promise isn't lived up to, I mightn't buy it. Meh.
