Short explanation of the Finnish school system:

Compulsory school lasts from grade 1-9, whereas kids start school at the age of 7. After compulsory school (at about the age of 16-17, depending on birthdates of course) we can choose either the "lukio", which is the equal of high school in the States and upper secondary in the UK, vocational training, which has less theory that the lukio and you can become for example a computer technician or an artisan, or then we can start working but that is not really a smart option nowadays as you all can guess. People who have completed their time at the lukio and done their matriculation exams usually continue to a university or some kind (we don't have colleges). People who have done vocational training can continue to study at a university but it's much more common that they start to work in stead.

Now being done with that, I am happy to tell you all that I have my last year in the lukio ahead of me

oh. and it helps if said courseowkr isnt worth 50% of your total grade (rather unusal for that to happen, but it has to me)

Hmm indeed. I suppose I am uber-mature with terribly sophisticated vocabulary (ahem ), but I don't look any older than 16...I can still buy child tickets on public transport. Come on!
