I'm still waiting for the scientists at Wrigley's to make a strappleberry.

I dreamed about grapples last night, after having read this topic yesterday afternoon.

There's a fruit more common in Arkansas (Yes, I like in the boonies). It is know as the Pluot. I remember what it was like before it was more thoroughly hybrid. They were huge, very juicy, and tasted great. Than, farmers started altering them. They became smaller and better looking just for show. They lost their fine texture, their sweet mild flavor, and a lot of their juice.
Hybrid fruits are good, but farmers ruin them for show regularly. Many farmers of America these days only look at the money and trade a quality product for one that looks good and sells fast.
I'm certain these Grapplefruits taste great, but they're probably bred to look good, which might mean they lost around 40% of their nutrition like just about everything else.

Grapples = nasty
Tastes like apples dipped in grape cough syrup.
Can't stand the things.
On the other hand, someone mentioned McDonald's chicken nuggets, and I definatly know what I'm having for lunch tomorrow...lol!

I saw those at the store and thought about trying them, but I hate the taste of grapes. Now, an apple-blueberry or apple-banana hybrid, now that I could deal with...
Ever heard of those grapes that supposedly taste like champagne?

I've only recently tried pluots, but they're really really good. Profits are not going to kill the world, mate.
And grapes and apples can't interbreed, genetic modification or not. They're completely different plants. Grapples are not actual hybrids.
Of course, if Grapples are Red or Golden Delicious, and this is because they sell the best, okay, fine. Profits are going to kill the world. (I hear Golden Delicious is very tasty fresh, though.)

Oooh, they look cool.
Probably don't sell them here, though

Feh. Found 'em at my local grocery store about a year or two ago, wanted 'em....
Well, long story short I paid 15 dollars for 4 underripe Fuji's with Grape Juice in. I should sue. <<
