I, Lord Rhinestone Cowboy III, puppy-slap at you with my spear of ingenuity. Mischief and mayhem ensues.

"I have some of the paper with the small sunflowers on the top corners, the newest stacks of it are just in the back. How much would you like? I can go get it for you," Ristalia said, smiling personably. She inched toward the door to the back room, impatient to hear his answer, sell him his paper, close the shop, take the child to the Inn, finish the journal (which involved perfecting that brown dye), and get some sleep to boot.
"And I was talking about the Inn, the one closest to here, run by a family. Why do you ask?" Ristalia replied. She also continued to wonder at the explosion of visitors to her shop, and business as well. It was really quite unusual.

(Noooo! I missed a day! I shall suffer the wrath of the... miss one day monster... actually I missed two days- It's just past midnight... so much Lost Desert plotting!)
Fawilyn didn't know if she should turn away or not, although she wasn't quite sure how much of his clothes got wet. "Um, may I ask then, what you are doing in these parts?" She was at least happy she got sidetracked by rather nice and... strange people. She could have found worse. Although these were friendly people, they didn't seem very much like her at all, and she wasn't quite sure what kind of a conversation would strike up.

He shook his head. He was completely soaked though he was being a gentleman an not removing anything else. He would let the fire dry the rest out. " Answers, clues, rumours, legends, small gleams of hope. Anything that could help me save my people and family. Ive not had much luck in the years ive searched but i still hold on to the fact that I cant give up when so much is at stake."

Caress watched quietly as Shade bent down and took a stone from the ground. She was clueless as to what he was doing, but she hid the bewilderement from her face.
Then the boy straightened again, smiling. "Sorry about that, I just thought this looked nice."
She gave small, titled nod, satisfied that there was a plausible reason, as she started along with him down the path. She blinked when Shade turned to her and asked about her. Again, she masked her surprise, as well as slight uneasiness, well. Caress was not used to talking so much to people she had known for such a little time, especially speaking about herself. She was silent for a while as she continued walking before she spoke.
"I do possess magic, but no, I am not a student of it, as this ability comes naturally and does not need to be practised."
She paused for a few seconds before she began again.
"It is quite different from other kinds of magics, and some would say it is a talent that has no relation to anything magical at all, for I cannot produce miraculous sights such as summon light, as you are able to do, or heal injuries with just a touch, as my brother can. My ability to communiate telepathically to animals is seen as quite dull and boring compared to what some others are capable of. Another unusual aspect of my magic is that it does not necessarily have to "favour" me - animals have personalities just as we do, and not all will take a liking to me."

[Ahh, I think I missed a couple of days too. o.o]
Seed listened to the furre answer Fawilyn's question, but didn't really take any of it in - the question or the answer. This kind of thing didn't interest him, he felt like screaming, "And what about my wings!?" but didn't, instead he remained silent.
He didn't need to take any of his clothes off - not his waistcoat, nor his shirt - the only thing the furre had sprayed over was his wings, the most precious part of his body.
He edged closer and turned his back to the fire, to allow his wings to dry off. He just caught the rest of the furre's answer, "I can't give up when so much is at stake." and turned to listen.
"What is at stake?" he asked. "If you don't mind me asking," he added quickly.

((Okay... let us try to get into this thing

))
Janine awoke from her half-sleep with a start. She looked over and right near her was a girl and a mermaid and a trolley. She blinked. Janine stood up quickly, not believing what she was seeing.
"Good Evening," Janine curtsied, her princess manners never absent- she curtsied to a girl with long hair and pretty gown. Then she turned her attention to the mermaid, looking in wide eyes. She hoped she would not have to introduce herself, considering she never knew whether to introduce with or without the "Princess" title when she away from the palace.

Shade listened quietly as she described her natural gift. "So you were born with this ability? Wow, that's amazing!" He smiled. "I wish I was born with a gift, but I'm really just a regular human being," he said, a little jealous. "Then again, people already think I'm weird enough already." He sighed, and silence fell over the two again.
Shade suddenly ran behind a thick, tall red-leaved tree, his jacket rustling with his movements. Stretching his arm high as he could, he felt the texture of one of it's leaves, which hung above him slightly. Appearing around the other side of the tree, he laughed. "I'm sorry if I seem so random sometimes. It's just... nature and everything... it's just fascinating." He closed his eyes, listening to the songs of the evening animals.
"Caress, what do they say? I wish I could hear their voices." He looked to her, tilting his head slightly, brown eyes wide open, bright and hopeful.

He sighed before responding as if it hurt to speak of it. "All the lives of the people in my homeland. Which include that of my parents. I miss them so much. They didnt even get to see me grow up..."
Mon Sep 05, 2005 9:51 pm
From what she heard, Fawilyn though of how horrible his plight was compared to her losing her only brother. To lose all those people... she could understand losing one, but his own homeland. She wasn't quite sure when was the time to inquire how he had lost them- it was an intriguing subject, and she was very curious- but it wasn't the time to ask. However, since she never saw Meiou before, what were the chances that she'd ever see him again? "Erm, is there... anything... I could do to help?" The words just somehow came out of her mouth. Volunteering already? Oy, you don't know what you're getting yourself into. Silly, silly girl, still having a conversation with yourself. Your conscience advises you to stay home. Whatever happened, it sounds likes he can still save his homeland, and that means something horrible has happened it, like some spell or something. You're going to get yourself killed... silly girl.

(Would you mind if Ristalia knew Meria in a shopkeeper/customer relation?)
Meria flew off, glad she had enough light to illuminate her journey. She didn't quite want to temporarily seize a firefly, as she thought the idea quite cruel. Regardless, Meria soared through the sky, spiraling, flipping and twirling, a miniature flying shadow against the pale moon. Well, now that my human-sized affairs have been settled, I need to get some supplies. Extracting a tiny piece of paper with scrawl only readable by small people, (DUH), she read off the list, a habit picked up by watching merchants mutter in their business.
Lets see, ink, human and my sized paper, a few vials human sized, and of course, my potion ingredients for next time.
Humming cheerfully, Meria sped towards the stationary shop, the only store open at the moment that she knew of. The ink and vials she could wait a while, and the potion ingredients were found in the woods, so those needn't be done now. However, Meria wasn't quite tired yet, so she decided to get some more work done, as customers were expecting their charms soon.
Deciding she would follow the river route, Meria flew low, soon enough approaching a group of three, and a.....trolley.
What else do you think she'd say? Ok.......
"Eh, uh...... hi?" she said, probably inaudible to most as she immediately turned shy and red-faced.

"Evening?" Maddox exclaimed with theatric shock. "Evening?? What doth thou speaketh of, this...psh!...evening? It is still afternoon! The day is young! The night is younger! Why do we waste time dallying here, when we might be off... on an adventure!"
She began to scoot her trolly forward, hoping to be going in the general direction of the nearest town.
((would've added some random poetry here, but as my poetry muse is on holiday, i'm afraid the poetry must wait until tomorrow. alas!))

He smiled to her softly. "Thanks for the offer but unless you know of greater curses and how to break them I dont know how youd be of help." He didnt mean to sound rude if he did. He jus didnt wish anyone else to get hurt because of his quest.

Janine surprised still, went closer to the mermaid and gave the other girl a smile. "Hello," she said quietly to her. Janine looked at the poetic mermaid in awe, "Yes, I suppose the day is quite young..." she replied, rather embrarassed. She couldn't believe her luck, she felt as though she was in a story. Janine, the Princess, escaping for a little while comes upon a poetic mermaid from within a river.
Maybe I'll write a tale about it one day, she thought idily.

Terran mumbled softly to himself, counting quickly on his fingers. After a moment, he answered. "Two sheafs will do, I think."
He smiled before answering the second question. "I know the Inn you speak of, very well in fact. I have lived there all my life... and no reason, really, just wondering..."

The inn was rather busy in the dining area. Guests were constantly asking for drinks from the only waitress, a fifteen-year-old girl who looked like she had been born doing this. She carried six plates on her arms now, and neatly set them on the table. After this, she pulled napkins and silverware from her apron and neatly put them in place. The table had been reserved and a meal ordered for this time, paid in advance, with three rooms and five occupants total. She actually wondered which person was eating the meal who would not be staying in a room, but was too busy to dwell on it.
Just then, three men and two women walked in. One of them showed a note to the innkeeper, who pointed at the reserved table. The group of five took seats and waited for a sixth person. One of the men, the tallest of the group, seemed to be inhaling deeper than normal as steam rose from his meal. "Why's he a'ways late?" the tall one asked. "He has reasons," a wiry elf answered. The fire nymph beside him giggled as she balanced a spoon on her nose. She acted quite ditzy, but had a ninja sword on her back. Only a trained warrior would see her as the greatest threat. She leaned on the wiry elf now, and whispered some nonsense into his ear. The wiry elf screwed on a merchant's grin and pulled out a reedy laugh.
It was upon this laugh that he looked to his other side and suddenly clutched his heart. His company of four turned to see what made their leader jump, and saw a familiar face. "What? Didn't I tell you soggy bunch to stop leaping like that?" Jackdaw asked nonchalantly, as if sneaking up on this particular group was an ordinary habit. "S-sorry..." the wiry elf actually stuttered. "I wonder what was so important that you took off your uniforms and treked all the way into the heart of Coralie, leaving a clumsy trail, I might add, of Guardsmen who sight you and spread rumors faster than your pace." Jackdaw took a bite of the meal in front of him and smiled faintly after his witty comment.
"Well, here is how it goes. Uja, she... isn't leading us any more. Buorza is now," a female rat furre of the group explained. Jackdaw quirked an eyebrow just noticably, "Ah yes... mutiny. No wonder you all nearly hit your heads on the ceiling. Take it from me, take Uja out of whatever gulag you have her in and put her back in the front. She will keep you all alive this year if you apologise and are very nice," the former Captain suggested, swirling a glass of wine. He sipped it gingerly, holding his hostile conversation as if very mildly amused by it. The silent member of the party of five was a faerie. He was trying to weasel his way into Jackdaw's mind. Jackdaw uncovered his hair-hidden eye just long enough for the faerie to see it. The faerie cowered at its gaze and refused to look at Jackdaw after that.
