((Hey! This is Ali, and I've been approved to play as a side character. I haven't RPed in ages, so please excuse me if I'm a bit rusty. I'm looking forward to playing in this RP.
Name: Alia Viracenda
Age: 12
Kingdom: Diamond
Position in Kingdom: Servant
Appearance: Alia looks rather like a patchwork quilt. She has the long hair, pale skin, and wings of her people. But the hair is somewhat like straw, and a dull dark brown. Her light blue eyes clash considerably with her hair. She is fairly tall for her age (at the moment 5'2 and growing like a weed). She wears fairly simple, yet elegant, gowns of fabrics such as silk and velvet, with the servants crest of a Diamond and Wings on the left breast.
Personality: (Please include strengths and weaknesses)Alia is the ideal servant. She is timid, meek, gentle, and wanting nothing more then to please. Alia is also very skilled in music, flower arrangement, and cosmetic things(Hair arrangement and the like). However, she had no formal education, is fairly slow, and is somewhat ignorant. She is rather un-confident and believes she is not worthy of the chance she has been give at life.
She is very superstitious and devoutly religious, attending every service with out fail, believing in every word.
Alia sufferers from obsessive fears. They range from falling down the stairs to the world below. Terrified by the idea of the world below, she avoids any contact with it. Not having any formal education, she only knows the scary stories told to children and what is said in the temple, about the demonic, twisted, and cruel demons living below.
However, is also extremely loyal to the Crown Princess, and looks up to her. The Princess's new actions have caused a considerable amount of frustration and confusion on Alia's part.
Weapons: (If your characters use them) Well, I suppose Alia could bop someone over the head with a hair brush if she had one on hand, but she doesn't carry weapon's and doesn't know how to use them, either.
History: Long ago, the Viracenda family was a small, poor, but noble family, infamous for marrying people from other lands. When the people of Diamond escaped to the skies, the family was declared impure and had their lands and titles taken away. Since then they have lived as ordinary people, and slowly, the story of their family became a legend, then just a story, and then all but disappeared, known only by the eldest of the people.
Many generations later, Alia was taken by the government from her home with her parents in their tailor shop to be trained as a maid servant for noble ladies after showing talent in lady-like areas. Having finished her training, is now working at the palace, bringing bathwater, brushing hair, and helping entertain and wait on guests. She does not know the Crown Princess very well, and is often to quite in her presence to barely manage a "yes" or "no."
Note: -Diamond Dust-. O.K, now the real stuff. Even when the Viracenda's had a title, it was that and not much else. They were pretty small and poor for nobles, more like average people. And Alia has no chance at anything royal, as they were stripped off their titles. However, this could be valuable info on her, and could even be used as black mail if a character finds out. I'm sure some people know(just PM me if you want to use the idea for an O.K. I've got no real plans for her, so PM me if you have any ideas. She's also easily munipulated, being young and fairly slow.
Edit: I've got a post now!))
Alia was praying at the altar.
The readings dictated to say prayers once in the morning, once at midday, and once in the evening. Alia always followed the rules. She was a good servant of Anaedaan, and in time she would have her reward, she always told herself.
She prayed for many people. She prayed for the other servants, for her family, though she did not see them often, and for the charming and handsome man Tirithral, who was looking for the princess, some said.
And then, low enough so she thought people could not hear it, "Serenity."
Every since the Princess had gone missing, panic was everywhere. The council had met for days. When they emerged, they declared that the princess must be hiding in the lower regions of Diamond, and they would root her out. No word of ruling at be said to anyone, but the servants were abuzz with thousands of tales. Some said that Tirithral was ruling, as he was soon to be king, others the council.
The servants has other tales, too. Despite what the council had said, it had been days and they still could not find her. Many said that she has ran to world below, away from Diamond.
Alia would not believe it. Everyone knew that those who entered the world below would be forever cursed. That couldn't happen to Serenity, it just couldn't!
However, as the days went on, Alia became more afraid. That girl, Usami, had already cursed the castle with her presence. The older servants told her that ever since the Princess was little, she had been listening to storys of Usami's world. Alia had heard small bits of these storys, that told of a land called Zircon. Though Usami told of it's strange beauty and with longing, Alia thought, no, she knew, she was talking of the deepest depths of hell.
She grew worried, that perhaps, Usami had convinced the Princess to descend, to curse Diamond, perhaps.
But why had the Princess left? Alia had told her self that it was fear of marrying so young. Yes, it had to be. No matter how charming or handsome Tirithal was, he was much older than Serenity, and Serenity was very young. Anyone should be scared.
She rose from altar and walked from the temple with the others. As she passed the palace gate, she noticed the bodies from last nights riot had been removed. People had become worried and frustrated by Serenity's absence, and had come to the gates. They had accused the council of murdering her, and even saying that Tirithal and Usami had used black magic to control her. They had been fired by the guards with arrows. Five had been killed. Alia did not see it, but she saw the carnage. One of them was a boy, not much older that her, whose mother had been crying over him. He had light hair, like Serenity. The more she passed him, the more of Serenity she saw.
Every day, she grew more and more afraid. Afraid for Serenity, afraid of the fights, afraid of Usami. But nothing, nothing, could stop the fear of falling.
((So, yeah. That's Alia. She is one confused little girl. No offence ment to Lillie by the Zircon comment.))
Lovely set by the equally lovely Silja!
