VENOM! the way venom looked in the comics, cartoons etc. IM wondering how he will look in the movie!

Your joking me right? Topher Grace as Venom, he looks more like a sandman to me. Isn't venom suppose to be this buff person? Since venom is hand to hand combat mostly and when that happens villains are usually buff, while if you have projection powers such as sandman you look more like...topher grace does. Unless while becoming venom you gain steriod like effects(which where the CGI kicks in i guess) and changes everything....but why still?

Isn't venom like the bizzaro of spiderman? He sort of looks like Toby Maguire. Toby wasn't all that buff, but he pulls off spiderman's body quite well, perhaps Venom will be the same.

Actually I believe your thinking about "Carnage." Carnage, Venom, and Spiderman are around the same. Venom is the biggest of the bunch but Topher would probably pull off Carnage more easily. And another thing confirming it all that the other guy is playing Sandman, the colours match. *The pictures are a bit big, if mod's feel like it needs to change they can link them if needed*

I reallllly wish they would make a 4th spiderman movie. At some time, someobdy said all movies with sequels had to be in trilogies. So for some reaosn, all good movies are trilogies. I say *Good* movies because for some reason, land before time went coocooforcocoapuffs are currently making land before time KVVIII or something...

Spiderman should change this... and go for a 4th. They have the perfect actors for the movie... its such a great story... and people WILL see it. They WILL make money off of it... and after using venom.... it would only be a appropriate to get Carnage in there.... and why not throw aquaman, Mysterio, Rhino, or Scorpion in there while their at it? I really hope they would make a 4th. That would complete my spiderman needs. I am a spiderman geek, and i would kill for a 4th movie. KILL KILL KILL!

you guys are forgetting the point... he isn't playing "venom".... although thats what all the ads will be saying. Toby doesn't look like "Spiderman".... but they can make him look like him because of the sweet costume.
Topher is playing Eddie Brock.... eddie brock gets taken over by the alien costume... and topher is going to make a great eddie brock... see?



they can do whatever they want with him once they get him in the suit... you wont even be able to see its Topher... its him being eddie brock that got him cast so well in the movie. n stuff.

How is he different from Toby Maguire?

Spiderman(toby maguire) isn't suppose to be big buff man like venom is suppose to be. But as shown on movie 1 toby can pull off the body type during the whole "glasses off, glasses on, flex, unflex" scene that they had. And seeing certain 70's show episodes Topher Grace isn't really the big buff venom rip your head off type of guy. But i put some hope in the movie and they'll pull it off. Still thinking he would make a better carnage.

Edit: Just reading what TWW posted and make connections of sort, and running through it all. Somehow I had Eddir Brock as macho man not really that lean skinny thing. But thinking past from spiderman cartoons and such. When he gets infected doesn't all of a sudden he goes big and huge? If so then i guess it would work all out.

Ah, I was trying to find out a picture of what venom looked before he became venom. I wasn't successful. But yeah, the suit will make him buffer, it makes spiderman look more muscular in my opinion.

It depends on which version they're using.

One version has the symbiote coming back on John Jameson's spaceship.
Another has it as part of the "Secret Wars"
Another has it as an experiment done on Peter's blood.

I'm voting for the 1st one, although rumour has it that we'll only see Venom for a few mins at the end of the film as a teaser, kinda like the end of Batman Begins with the playing card.
Think about it, Sandman can morph into different shapes, so can Venom. Why have 2 similar villains in one film? You might as well throw in Hydroman while you're at it.

They'd probably need the Sin-Eater as a side story building up to Eddie's transformation into Venom though. And I wonder how they'll "infect" Peter with the symbiote?

Also, the Rhino is one of the guys set up in Spider-Man. When Peter or someone was holding the newspaper up, it said that someone escaped prison or what not and sources say that was the Rhino.

see, here's where you guys are wrong.... the skinniness isnt an issue... you are picturing Eric Foreman and Venom, not Topher Grace. Hollywood can do amazing things when they want somebody perfect for a movie.... and we all know they wont cut any slack for a spiderman movie....

And actually, the thing behind Eddie Brock is that he isn't originally huge. The "huge" guy you are thinking of, or Im pretty sure, is Flash Thompson.... who DOES become Venom later in the story... but not for a while... Venom returns and uses Flash Gordon as its power source.
Now, Im not saying Eddie Brock isnt strong, but he does Start out weak. The whole thing is that Peter makes things worse and worse for him, so he starts working out and stuff. It isn't until he gets peed-off and starts getting more and more evil that he really gets buff. And we all saw how Peter went from Zero to Hero within two scenes in the first movie. They can do it again! Except.... venom... isnt such a hero.

"Lizard guy", as you guys have been calling him, (just to inform you if you are confused) is doctor conners.... but I doubt he'll be ever appearing as the Lizard in a film... unless they continue on with this series. He lost his arm in the war, so hes been studying lizards because of their ability to regrow limbs they have lost (like if you pull off an anole's tail).... and he tries regrowing his arm, but it goes terribly wrong and he turns into the Lizard.
However, with all the other way cool villians, and they way Hollywood likes to bring in new faces to make each movie fresh, i doubt the Lizard will make any big impact on a spider man movie, since they allready used Doctor Conners. They just used him in the first movies to give Spidey-fans something familiar to set the scene... make you feel close to the spidey world.

Sorry guys... im just.... the biggest spiderman freak out there. Ugh. I cant stop living Spider man. the story is just..... toooo amazing. Ugh.
