Tails is really cool. I used to have a friend who was a big Sonic fan (back when the old TV show was on Toon Disney), and so he'd be Sonic, and I was Tails.
I just wished I could fly. x)

It has to be Tails 
. Sonic wouldn't be alive if he didn't exist. I think it was in StH 1 or 2 when Sonic defeats the final boss, the flying fortress is destroyed and tails saves him in his spiffy little plane 
. Sonic took up a lot of my earlier child hood. Oh, and Knuckles is pretty damn cool.

I never followed the show or played much of the video games, but I have to say I like Knuckles just because he's an echidna (they are one of the only animals on earth that poop, pee, etc from one hole).
