I did a little glamour shot for my favorite team member (Go Maraqua!)

Player Name: Jair Tollet
Player Position: Left Forward
An above average scorer and passer, Tollet hardly gets the publicity she deserves, due to all the attention that is paid to her fellow forward Elon Hughlis. There have been recent rumblings that Tollet is looking forward to signing on with another squad at the end of the tournament and getting out from under Hughlis's shadow.

Oh wow, that's fantastic! I love the fluidity of the pose, and the attention to detail in everything!

Nicely done! ^^

Thanks!

My sequence of drawings usually starts with a prelim/pencil drawing then an ink and finally a colored version. My preferred medium is colored pencil, but I'm becoming a little warmer to my art markers...

To be honest the pieces I finish with color are the ones I get the best feedback on. I usually lose interest in the ones that don't get a lot of attention.

So here's hoping! :D

Yeah, that's normally how I work too. I normally color in Photoshop, but I do love my colored pencils <3 What kind do you use?

Prismacolor. :D I swear they even smell better than other colored pencils. Though I am pretty impressed with the Crayola pigment ratio for the price. But I'll spend a little more for my Prismas...

I got some Prismacolor markers too for a song on eBay :D

I tried to keep it in the spirit of my favorite things about Neopet illustrations. But we'll see if that translates into the color. I might have to borrow my own muse for that part

Wow. Loved it. Veeerrrry nice. And I really liked the braid part :P Well, I would have also loved to see it in color but this is just as well because you did a fabulous job.

Good luck with future drawings! Not that you need it :)

I'm having fun with this one so the colored version might not be too far away. We'll see ;)

*pop*

Oh! There goes the ink version! :D

Thank you!

I have a terrible habit of details changing, such as losing the original facial expression, when I switch mediums. I've really worked to be consistent as much as I can.

I don't know how comic artists do it.

well, comics have no detail. your Yooyuball player is incredibly detailed, and probably impossible to draw again realistically. could we see the in-progress sketches?

The pencil sketch linked in the first post is the only prelim sketch I have for her. Afterwards I traced the outline from that for what would then become the ink version (linked in one of the above posts).

I'm pretty organic when I start out on a piece and what I mean by that is I sketch, erase, and finalize all on the same piece of paper. At one point I was inking the pencil version, but quickly realized that in doing so I lose and possibly ruin the original concept. I've gotten more protective of my pencil sketches since then ;)

For those who are interested, the colored version is still in the works, but was on hold due to a vacation. Admittedly, the failure of her team to proceed into the next level put a damper on my motivation to finish, but I really like this drawing so I'm likely to finish with a colored version anyway. It might just take more time and encouragement :P
