The detective goes away from the main group that is standing in a circle, and the group leader picks the murderer. Then the detective comes back, and has to try and guess who the murderer is. The murderer has to wink at people and they usually die in some dramatic way and try not to raise suspiscion and kill everyone before the detective find out the murderer. Great fun in Drama :D

Haha, we used to play wink murder in drama too. We played loads of games in drama, no wonder none of us got As :P

I can't believe no one has mentioned this yet: Heads Down Thumbs Up. We used to play it all the time. Usually works good for about 30-40 people, but you really need tables, but I suppose you could it without.

The way you play it, you pick 5-8 people and then everyone else has to close their eyes and put their heads down, yep, you guessed it, with their thumbs up. Then, the 5-8 people chosen will go and squeeze someones thumb, so 5-8 people have had their thumbs squeezed. Then they return to the front and the game-leader tells the people who had their thumbs squeezed to stand up. They then guess who squeezed their thumb, if they guess wrong, they sit down. If they guess correctly, the person who squeezed their thumb sits down and the person who guessed correctly stands up to do it.

Over here, we call that Heads Up, Seven Up (because we do 7 people instead of 5-8). But yeah, I recently worked at a day camp and we played that with the kids... good game.

We played wink murder in Drama in year 7! But we had revivers, too, and they revived by sticking their tongue out at 'dead' people :D

We would play that tail game in grade school. Except we were turkeys and we would get converted to Butterball factory workers. o_o It was a kind of morbid game.

Treasure hunts are great fun... I remember doing many of those when I was younger (and I even did one last year--which was a HUGE disaster, as the organizers weren't very smart).

And, by the way, Capture the Flag is a GREAT game. Play it. Seriously.

OROROR. Mafia/Werewolf. ;D

This is a game that is gaurenteed to get kids messy and stained with dye, but fun all the same. It also requires some purchases. No clue if you have the resources, but if you do it's a FUN game.

NEEDED:
A plain, white T-Shirt for each child
small water pistols for each child
several packets of grape (or cherry, or lemonade, depends on what color you want--hey, use em' all if ya want) kool-aid (Or dye, but it stains worse)
lots and lots of tiny rubber bands (the type used for cornrows)
several big basins of water
acess to a washer and dryer

have each child put on a white t-shirt. Take the front of each shirt twist it up as far as it will go, and secure it with a rubber band. Repeat with the back. Fill the basins with water, and add kool-aid to each to give it color. give each kid a water gun Let em' loose. Instant tye-dyed shirts. Let them air dry, wash them in cold water, then air dry them to cement the colors. Very fun ^_^ (the dye soaks through; the bra and socks I wore that day are solid purple)

Oooh, heads down, thumbs up - that brings back memories!

I'm looking after my two little brothers for the summer, it's a lot more difficult when there's only two kids - group activites are off the menu, argh.

Thank goodness for playstation ;)
