Ha ha, I've done that one before. XD

Because it is sexy.

Own it.

;)

And yet again, the international interchangability of 'Britain' and 'England' shows it's (very) ugly head. THERE ARE 3 OTHER COUNTRIES IN THIS COUNTRY AND WE WANT RECOGNITION!

Although only the Scottish, Irish and English accents are shmexy. No-one likes the Welsh accent.
No-one.

Not to mention that said accents are made up of Hundreds of local accents.

Then there's those local accents, with lisps and stutters, and the people who have their own hybrid language of english-grunting. And high-pitched girly girlies who squeak and the people who are lazy talkers and sorta let the words fall out of their mouths... Man, why would anyone generalise?!

Oh, man. Does that man I'm gonna get beaten up now?

EDIT. What the hell? Why are we discussing accents, this is the JOKES BOARD.

Its kinda scary casue Ive tried about half of those... I hate my English teacher. >< She is like 29 and everyone that isnt in her class thinks that she is so cooooool she is a total witch. You arent allowed to type your papers and then before you turn them in she has to check them and instead of just taking points off, she will make you re-write it and then she will take off the points.-.-

I use to do this all the time with my notes, one sure way to make me not fall asleep in class... also very funny when the teacher wants to check the notes you've made.

I use to tell her, but I can understand them and that's the point right?

When I was in Grade 11 all of her classes did manage to make one teacher have a nervous breakdown and took a leave of absense for a year. We went through about 8 subs in that year as well.

I was a very bad kid though, use to also draw pictures of teachers being killed in various ways in my notes as well for them to see when they checked them... best reaction yet was Kill the teacher? No kill yourself! I flunked his class he was later fired for his "poor" attitude and why less then 50 percent was passing his classes.

I also use to leave dark depressing poems around for teachers to read, any assingments or drafts I use to have in the colums or lug around this poem book I was always writing in. fun but had me ended up in councilling for a year with the religion teacher.... I still have that poem book.

More on topic, I'm sooo eager to try some of these out this next school year. Although my parents wouldn't appreciate it if I got detention...

I actually know a kid who does that when he has to read out loud, because it keeps him from slurring his words and stuttering. He tried to do that in Book Club--yeah, we were in Book Club, like honest-to-goodness nerds, none of this popular video-game nerd crap for us--and eventually he had to stop reading because I was giggling like crazy.

I did that all the time in class, only with Sharpies. (You can see one of my many bored-in-class designs in my avatar.)

I had the coolest English teacher last year. She was 5 feet tall and loved giving us chocolate, and approved of us bringing in all sorts of food too. And on our final, which only my friend and I took out of the thirteen-person class, she let us work together and gave us a really good grade. Plus she loved chiasmuses.

I gotta agree with Ixi, well apart from the Welsh comment - Glyn on Big Brother has a lovely accent, much better than Jane's accent.

Just last week, a chinese bloke came onto Skype wanting a conversation... he asked me where I lived... when I said Scotland, he replied a lovely city... I was like.... Scotland... it's a country... above England?!!? Part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain!

It's like my country doesn't exist sometimes.

Reminds me of the time Wales was left of the EU map.

Anyway you would thought people would have learned about their world maps in school and should know where different countries are.(Directly at that Chinese bloke who had thought Scotland was city and at Eurostat who made that map in the article above.)

Once my teacher made me write a poem. I didn't want to do it, so I wrote a very inappropriate poem in Ebonics. I presented it in front of the class. They giggled through the whole thing and then they gave me a standing ovation. The teacher told me that my poem was the best poem she had heard a student write. If only she had known what was really in the poem...

At the time I was in the middle of Missouri, which is one of the whitest parts of America. I grew up in Gary, so I knew Ebonics. None of them did. I am lucky for that, though. If she had known what I wrote, I would have been suspended for a very long time.
