I'm not much of a metal fan, but I do listen to the odd tidbits now and then.

Personally, I prefer Black & Death metal; and perhaps a bit of heavy metal every now and then.

My favourite metal/BM/DM bands have to be:

Black Sabbath,
Led Zepp,
Mayhem,
Gorgoroth,
Burzum,
Amon Amarth,
Akercocke,
Deicide,
Norther,
Venom,
Finntroll,
Carcass,
Endstille,
Darkthrone,
Bilskirnir,
Metallica,
Iron Maiden,
In Flames.

What about you?

Okay, I admit it, I am a self-confessed metalhead. I'm more into the classic thrash stuff though; the only bands on your list I consistently listen to are Maiden, Metallica and Sabbath. I occasionally go for black & death metal too but I'm not a big enough fan of it to identify all of the bands on your list. Stuff like Megadeth, Anthrax and Overkill are more my speed.

Old school in the hizz-ouse.

Yeah, depending on my mood I can be into metal - love it... although I must say that it's not the only music type I like.

I listen to metal, mostly Thrash and Death. I can't stand Power metal though. My favorite band is Metallica, and I was lucky enough to meet them a few months ago. :D

Thanks Yukio - but if you other guys don't like it - just refresh ;)

Anyhow, back on topic - I'm a mega kerrang and MTV2 fan... if there's no real tv to be had - I shall have either of them.

In regard to Iron maiden and the like I present this.

Quote:
[Iron] Maiden are the musical equivalent of the war vet who demands you give up your bus seat 'because I was in the war'.
Maiden were pioneers, and have inspired a number of subsequent bands; but they've done nothing except try to relive past glories for a good few years now. They're in danger of becoming a rock novelty act.
(See 'Fade Away, Better to burn out than')

And yeah, I prefere Scuzz too, theyre both horrendous for playing utter garbage, but Scuzz has the funky Barbed wire thing, and they tend to play more of what I like aswell.

Circle Of Dead Children is a pretty intense band.

Maiden's tunes still work, at least in my books; they still have a huge fanbase.

Scuzz ocasionally plays rubbish too, Scuzz: "home of metal", was playing emo music. ugh.
