I, Lord Rhinestone Cowboy III, puppy-slap at you with my spear of ingenuity. Mischief and mayhem ensues.

Felvil knelt down and placed his hands on Orost's chest. The wounds sealed up and the blood stopped, but Orost would bear the scar and the lesson from the bear forever. Orost still did not feel perfectly well, nor would he for a while (-1 Speed, -1 Strength until next GC camp). Logarth's arrows went a little less wide because he learned from his last shot. The third arrow went almost straight up into the air, though, striking a tree (-2 damage ;-) ). The other two arrows struck the bear. One hit the bear in the right shoulder (-2 damage), and the other struck it in the right ankle (-3 damage, -1 Speed). It let out a loud bay. Hikaru got off two stones, both of which hitting the bear lightly on the left foreleg (-4 damage total). The bear lashed out at Hikaru, catching him on the leg. Hikaru stumbled backward, hitting the rocky ground (-5 damage). Felvil and Trekvid backed up as well, giving the fighters room to move.

She heard the sound of a battle obviously going on in the distance, apparently with one of the woodland creatures. Still, Xantcha, priestess of Vinkara, did not hasten her pace. The handmaiden of the god of death and the inevitability that accompanies it merely kept walking the forest path as if she had done so every day of her twenty-seven year old existence.
In her right hand was held a simple peasant's scythe, which she used as a walking stick, but it did not leave any marks on the path behind her - and whether it was her divine aura or simple her gentle weight which caused it, none could say.
A slow wind passed through her chestnut hairs, and her eyes were still fixed on some indeterminate point in the distance, as her feet continued to walk the path as if they had some will of their own. Finally, she arrived at the scene of the battle.
On others, the black robe she was wearing, and especially the scythe she was carrying would have instantly caused an agressive behaviour in strangers. But there was something about her, perhaps the fact that, even though she was a large woman, there was something calm, benign in her frame, in her composure, in every move that she made.
This was perhaps why a tall, blonde elf who had seemingly just backed away from the fight, seemingly regarded her not so much with a look of suspicion, but one of curiosity.
Xantcha von Bismarck, servant to the god of death, cast a cold look back at him from her grey eyes - devoid of any emotion at all, be it love or hate, and drew her hood over her head.
She stood, and waited for the battle to turn out as it would.

Hikaru cried out, tumbling backward.
It wasn't as bad as she thought;at least she could still stand.
Aiming carefully, she shot another two rocks. She tried to think of a way to get to Logarth with fire but she had landed on the opposite side. Being hurt, there was no way she could get there fast enough.
Hikaru loaded her sling once again and shot at the bear yet again.

As the bear moved around, Logarth compensated by moving a little farther away. He was a little satisfied that the arrows hit key points on the bear. He wanted to light up his arrows, but nobody had any fire and there was no way he could make one fast enough. So, he took out three more arrows, aimed then again at the bear's chest, and shot them.

Orost woke up, feeling terrible, but still able to battle. He stood up and looked at his companions. He looked over at the bear and tried something different. He looped arround towards the back of the bear, hoping to either get a cheap shot in and do massive damage or make the bear follow him, making his back open for the rangers to attack. He hefted his hammer and started on this plan.

"Oh! Yes! Thank thee, sir," Terra called as she rushed out the door. She hurried to the edge of the town, but after she had left she slowed. She did not want to waste her energy catching up to the rest of the group.
-----
As Terra Ryn crossed over a rise in the path she had followed, a bead of sweat dripped down her face. She had worked herself attempting to catch up with the rest of the group, and she had begun to think she had lost the trail completely.
"Foolish girl," she muttered softly to herself, glancing around at herself. "Could nay even follow a simple path."
That was when she heard the roar. Startled, she hurried her pace, seeing the group as she fully crossed over. She would have rejoiced, but she could plainly see that this was no time to do so.
She quickly found a place where a shot to the bear would be clear. As fast as she could, she loaded her bow, aimed, and fired. She watched intently as the arrow flew... she had not had much opportunity to practice, and she was farther than the bear than she would have preferred...

Felvil looked over at the newcomer, unsure of why she was here. He glanced her over, noticing her apparent traits and abilities.

Logarth quickly fired his arrows at the bear. Aiming quickly threw the shots off slightly. One hit the tree to the left of the bear (-2 damage to the tree), one hit the bear's right leg (-3 damage), and one clipped the bear's left shoulder (-1 damage). Orost swept around the bear's back. Hikaru flung a stone and struck the belly of the beast (-2 damage). Hikaru's second stone flew past the bear, narrowly missing Orost's head. Orost raised his hammer high above his head. He brought it down with all of his weakened might. The hammer struck the bear on the nape of the spine, crushing bone as it connected the unsuspecting bear (-3 damage). The bear swung around, swiping Orost with the side of a paw (-3 damage). Orost fell back. Tessa raised her bow and released the arrow. The arrow wavered in its path, but a freak gust of wind blew it back on path. Felvil coughed and wiped his mouth. The arrow pierced the back of the bear, slipping in between two of the ribs. It landed in the heart of the bear. The bear let out a scream that drove everyone but Trekvid and Felvil to his or her knees. The bear staggered backward a few steps. It fell backward, crashing against the ground. The earth shook with the might of the impact.

NOTE
Last reminder to everyone that Point Requests are on a PM basis only. Also, no Out Of Character posting is allowed. Everyone was damaged from the scream of the bear. Don't cry, your ears are only bleeding! One last thing: any characters that were created originally have three more days (17 September 2006) before they will not be allowed to continue. The characters will be forcibly removed from the plotline on 20 September if I have not seen a post or PM from the character creater.

Hikaru's knees buckled and she sat down hard. Then she remembered something and rushed over to Orost.
"I'm really really sorry." she said bowing as low as she could while standing and being hurt. "I-I nearly hit you....."
Hikaru felt panicked still after looking at the shot. She swore to herself that she would practice more.

"Don't worry about it!" Orost said with a smile. He wiped the blood away from his ear. "Who are you?" He asked the newcommer, getting strait to the point. He put his hammer back in it's sling and pulled one of Logarth's arrows out of the tree as he passed it, the head bent slightly. He handed it Logarth as he went over to the strange person.

When the bear screamed as it died, Logarth was brought to his knees, covering his ears. After awhile, the bleeding stopped but his ears were still ringing. After he recovered a little, he went over to the bear and plucked out all the arrows that weren't broken, seeing that out of the eight arrows he shot, 6 landed in the bear, and he managed to recover 4 of those. The other two he couldn't find, until Orost handed him one. "Thanks," he said, putting it in his quiver.
He just then noticed the newcomer. He also went over to her, noticing the black robe and the scythe. He also felt a little uncomfortable.

Hikaru smiled back a little weakly and watched as him as he went over to the strange new person. She studied her for moment, but out of the corner of her eye she saw another person with a bow looking realived. As the black robed lady looked like the center of attention, she headed over to other one.
"Hi," she said smiling. "That last arrow was yours wasn't it? Thanks....." She trailed of wondering what else she could say.

Profile
Name: Ezmerelda Dante St. Austin
Class: Wanderer
Gender: Female
Age: 28
Dante picked at the roasting meat of the squirrell she managed to catch for a meal. It was only after skinning it and getting the fire started she noticed how poor the meat was; gamey and not much of it, really. It was her own fault, she knew she should have purchased a few more supplies while she had the chance in the last town. That's what she gets for being so tight with her money.
A roar of a bear caught her attention, quickly bringing her to her feet. It was nearby. A few shouts and clinking of weapons were also heard off in the distance. People. Finally. Perhaps someone might have an apple. She doused the small fire with the leather bound thermos filled with water, packed up the few belongings she had into the knapsack, donned her hooded cloak, and tossed the bag over her shoulder.
Heading in the direction she assumed the sounds came from, Dante fiddled with the gem she always kept around her neck since she was a child. Probably the only "bad" habit she really had, always twirling the green beryl between her fingers as she pondered what she was going to do if situations A, B, or C happened. She adjusted her knapsack over to the other shoulder, apparently whatever she heard was farther off than expected. Hopefully it's the right sort of people, otherwise I might have to make a mad dash and lose them.

Felvil looked around at the wounded people. Trekvid caught his eye. "I told you they wouldn't be able to handle things on thier own." Trekvid scowled.

Trekvid looked around at the different people sitting around, not talking, and doing nothing. He groaned and ushered them onward. "If you aren't going to heal eachother now, then get moving!" He said, setting off down the path.
Sun Sep 17, 2006 3:25 am
Oh, lovely. After a good amount of walking (normal for her), Dante reached a clearing where the dead bear lay. Good, possible problem solved. Scattered about the area were several people, obviously a bit hurt, some more than others. It was obvious they had taken down the bear, and paid pretty well for it.
Some tried to heal, some wanted to rest. Who could blame them? Two men, possibly the guides, and one a rather cranky individual, shouted and commanded they get moving again, or already.
Now Dante wasn't one to just intervene into other people's affairs. She didn't care enough, nor did she even know the strangers. But viewing the situation alone from her standpoint as an outsider, it wasn't right. And from the looks of it, they had come a long way already, and still had a long way to go. "Give them some time for rest, for pity's sake!" she found herself shouting, "They took down a bear, not a field mouse!"
Sun Sep 17, 2006 3:35 am
Trekvid's gaze leveled on the newcomer. He walked up to her and looked her square in the eyes from a few centimetres away. He growled. "Who are you to tell me what to do?!" He cried out. "You do not know who I am!" Felvil quickly stepped over and placed himself between them, apologizing quietly to the newcomer.
"They really should get some rest, dear mage. They are not experienced in battles. Perhaps we should heal them before we resume our journey?" He said. Trekvid grumbled something and sat down on the ground.
