Okay, according to the formula I have for the second task:

Composite 1:
q1 = 18
v1 = 42

Composite 2:
q2 = 25
v2 = 80

So what do I do with the actual formulae? q1*v1 + q2*v2_ / (q1 +q2)
Do I just make two separate composites using different ingredients?
I'm confused!

Okay, think of it this way: The numbers you get are enchantment *per gram*. So if you're aiming at 60 enchantment, for example, you're going for an average near 60 enchantment per gram.

What I'd like to figure out is how I can get +4 +4 burning sharpgrass for one 10-gram sample, and +1 +0 for burning the other 10-gram sharpgrass, doing both for 20 seconds.... :/

hey sane one toss me a clue here.. how do I make the power go up and the conjur not sink into the water closet? I am so lost

Also do I have to toss the first composite in once I form it? and then make the second?

Do I have to combine the first compostie with the second composite?

You just have to sort of play around with it and see what works... also, you can get within that range, and they average, so if you can't get it higher on one ingredient, try to get it on something else.

BTW, the properties are, like everything else, different for everybody.

As a side note, of course I'm going to help people as much as possible, but part of me hopes a lot of non-PPT people get stuck here so that not as many people make it to the end. This is the kind of challenge I was looking for earlier.

That's a succeess.

(anything other than a black mess and a try another formula button is success)

sorry. I'm still a bit confused. For Composite #2, are we supposed to redo the first one and the second one or what?

EDIT
Thanks for letting me know. :)

okay I got my item one where I want. but I am not sure how to go about the "second" item on level 2.

- Composites -
Miscellaneous Composition
Quantity: 16 grams
Conjuring: +43
Power: +46
You successfully added an ingredient to this composite.
Discard

Composite #1:
Quantity: 16 grams
Relevant property: Conjuring
Target value: +42 +/- 5

Composite #2:
Quantity: 25 grams
Relevant property: Power
Target value: +89 +/- 5
Composite 2 cannot contain more than 10 grams of any one basic ingredient.

and warnold am I fubared here or do I have a chance to make this work?
You have a chance.
just don't delete or combine anything with the composite you already have. IT's good, so don't touch it.

Quantity 25 + max 10 per basic ingredient == You need 3 ingredients, each from a different base. so pull 10 of each ingredient out, and process them till you get them up near 89. If you can get 3 up there, then just create composite 1, combine the second, split 5 off the thirs, and combine again.

If, like me, you can only get 2 up to that range, just keep raising 1 up and running the numbers till you get in the range.

okay I understand getting the POWERs to 89 and then splitting 5 off of one of the ingredients.

AFTER I get that far then what. I know I must sound completely silly to you, but I also never had chemistry in HS or College -giggles- at least the 89 makes sence

no, you're combining 2 processes. That formula is to determine the values of a single composite, given 2 (or more) ingredients.

If you need to make 2 composites, then you have to do everything twice, and there's no relation between them.

The formula tells you what value you get if you add an *ingredient* to an existing composite (you can only work with 10 grams at a time).

I'm so confused. For the second stage, I think I'm getting around to completing Composite #1. When I've got Composite 1 (and assuming its correct), can I just throw it in the cauldron and never think about it again, or do I have to finish up Composite #2, first? AND THEN, once I've got Composite 2, do I throw in Composite 1 and 2 into the cauldron or do I combine both composites, THEN throw it in the cauldron (if that's even possible?). Aiya this is confusing.

Ok one more time here...
Step 2: - I can only get 1-10 ingredients but it wants 18 grams.
How do I get the 18 grams? I'/ve tried getting 10 grams of 1 ingredient and 8 grams of another but that doesn't seem to work.

warnold got me semi unconfused

once yer at step two. yer first composite must meet the power and weight and the other must meat the conjure and weight

PLEASE let that be correct. then you DO NOT COMBINE but put them into the pot at the same time

how about trying 9 and 9 of the same ingredient then combine when done?

Ok, you've got
Ingredient 1: power=89 q=10
Ingredient 2: power=89 q=10
Ingredient 3: power=89 q=5
(possible ingredient 4 that we will ignore)
Composite 1: whatever, don't touch this

Then, make ingredient1 a composite.
select the new composite.
combine ingredient 2
select the new composite
combine ingredient 3

You now have 2 composites:
Composite 1: the old one
Composite 2: Poewer=89 q=25

Throw it in the pot, and go to level 3.

I believe you need to finish composite 2 first and then throw them in the cauldron. (I'm still working on it but I'm pretty sure that's what you need to do).

Take the first ingredient and create a composite. Then take the second ingredient, select the composite, and click "Combine" to combine the ingredient with the composite.

Does the non-relevent property number matter? Like if my relative property is ok, but I don't have zero for the second one...does it matter? (for potion-thingie number 2)
