What are you guys talking about?
This is a perfect choice for the "Person of the Year". Look at how much the world has been revolutionized by everyday people. You have MySpace, YouTube, online blogs and the like.
I think it's absolutely fitting that the "Person of the Year" is "you". Brilliant choice imo.

I think that was lovely of them. People in general don't get enough credit. All of us are wonderful really and we deserve something more than the criticism we get so often. It will make somebody's day I bet.

Ammer's right.
YouTube's got some of the best videos in the world. Without YouTube and the people uploading them, I wouldn't get to see half of the videos I do. And MySpace...well, I'm not big on it, but without MySpace, there are lots of artists I wouldn't have found out about, and...GASP! THERE'D BE NO FAMILY FORCE 5 AUDIO BLOGS! *dies*

That's what I thought at first, that it was just a cop-out, but after reading the article, it seems like this was a well thought out, if a little gimmicky, Person of the Year. After all, we're the ones responsible fo this trade of information and entertainment. Most of the great stuff you see on the internet--blogs, games, music, videos--is created by everyday people who see a need and do something about it.

I just read the article. I liked it.
TIME wrote:"And for seizing the reins of the global media, for founding and framing the new digital democracy, for working for nothing and beating the pros at their own game, TIME's Person of the Year for 2006 is you.
Sure it's a mistake to romanticize all this any more than is strictly necessary. Web 2.0 harnesses the stupidity of crowds as well as its wisdom. Some of the comments on YouTube make you weep for the future of humanity just for the spelling along, never mind the obscenity and the naked hatred.
But that's wha tmakes all this interesting...."
And I also agree with Ammer. It is well thought and sweet in a way. Besides, without us flooding YouTube, hidden talents probably would not be "found" (e.g. Terra Naomi)/
