I don't know from personal experience, but I'm pretty sure you can have more than 40 million in the bank. While 40 million is a lot, it's not an outrageously obscene amount. But I have heard that you can't have more than a certain amount on hand -- possibly around 40 million.

This thread is OLD. Why did someone bump this thread up after two years?

Anyway, there is no limit to how much NP you can have in the bank or on hand.

My friend and I are fighting about neopian games. Is or was there ever a limit to how many points you could earn? Example: You could never have more than 50,000,000 neopoints in all the time you played? I think you could, if you went crazy with games and restocking, went on neopets 24/7, and was generally very lucky (e.g. Random events and quests happened very often) and my friend thinks you can only obtain a certain amount of points before games do absolutely nothing except entertain you shortly. ~thebest594

There is no limit to how many Neopoints you can earn. Be sure to keep your extra NPs in the bank though so you can earn interest and protect them from Random Events.

I believe there was another editorial answer debunking that "if you have more than ____ NP on hand, it gets reset to 0" myth, but I can't find it.

Trust me, catluver, alombar was one of the richest, if not the richest, players on the site. He wasn't making any of that up. Nor should you open up an old thread (like Cranberry said) just to say question his comment. Perhaps, you haven't been playing Neopets very long, but just about anyone who has been around for 3 or more years about him and they would undoubtedly back me up.

as shown by Cranberry, that isn't true. Also, Why would the TNT actually do that to someone? erase all their hard work, instead of telling them "you reached the limit"? Really, there is no limit to what you can gain in Neopets. Besides, how else would you be able to pay for those items worth over 100 million neopoints?

I'm sure you could have guaged his wealth on the nuumber of items he had in his shop, and although it wouldn't be fully accurate, it would be enough to give you a good idea.

and on posting on an older topic? i'm sure this user found it via the new system of finding the top 5 choices of other boards (how i found another topic just as old, replied to it, then have it closed because of what i did). But i think it's valid to reply, as it's better than creating a whole new topic...i think. *ponders* and to be honest, i don't know that much about alombar either, and i'm no newbie (started playing right before Dr. Sloth made his first attack with the Space Station). Is there a historical document me and Catluver104 could be directed to to read about him?
