Meh, My friends other half is far better.
Saying that, he outclasses me by about a decade of Practice.
Stupid coordination.

... oy. That's kind of amazing.

And... that wasn't a hard song? Oh crud, I guess I'm worse at DDR than I'd previously thought.

It doesn't look that hard to figure out. Kids aren't as dumb as you think they are. It looks like fun and great exercise for the kid too.

Sun Feb 25, 2007 10:35 pm

I am ~*~*~*so*~*~*~ much better.

Lol jk, but I am pretty good, this kid could probably make me look really bad though XD, It's gonna be so friggin cool when he's 15 and he's like beating it all perfectly XD.

You've never done it, have you?
I tried competing against aforementioned friends other half, being the only one barmy enough to even TRY the 300bpm one with her.
She got a perfect score, I got about 7 because I was simply overloaded by it all.

It wasn't a hard song (standard mode, not heavy or challenge), but he looks pretty good. Kid's gonna grow up to be juuuuust like this guy. Or better. Hopefully he won't have to depend on a chair or bar like on those other videos I've seen. :P

But this is kind of a testament to the fact that DDR makes anyone look silly, even if they're good at it...

Exactly, watching something and doing something are always two completely different things. For a 5-year-old to do that is rather unusual, and especially a 5-year-old that doesn't miss a beat. He's probably had a ton of practice, but it's still quite a bit for a normal 5-year-old to do.

Child prodigies always make me feel incompetent.

That wasn't even the good video. :P

Yeah, this kid's gonna be insane if he keeps it up.

Impressive, though the chair sort of ruins it.

and he TOTALLY missed three arrows.

ok i don't really care that was freaking amazing. :o
Honestly, I'd like to see someone do that WITHOUT a chair. They'd have to be able to float. There's no way you could get your foot down then back up that quickly unless you were supporting yourself on something, it's pure physics.

Mmm... I taken it you've never seen tournament play then? :P

I sort of don't like songs that require the back-bar (though some don't use it). Sort of defeats the point of "dance".

Going back through it, I find the one Yoshi posted more impressive..

I have, I'm very into DDR, and those guys can freaking float, but even they aren't doing stuff THAT intense.

Yeah, I really don't like people using back bar. Learn to keep central balance!!

Also, he has the really good, EXPENSIVE DDR mats.

The five year old perfected the song with a soft ($20) mat AND no backboard. His legs barely reach the arrows (well without upsetting his balance if he did a fast song), but somehow manages perfectly.

Omg, the second video...that's one of my FAVORITE DDR songs!!! <3 (And I don't use back bar...but I can't get anything higher than a 'C' on that song :( )
