The twins, I feel bad for them. They are always confused. But it's hillarious. But the greatest part of all was Mirna and Charla trying to get the goats in that boat. 'Charla! Charla I am dying. I am going to die.' 'MIRNA! I can't stand here all day trying to keep them in!'

The Bowling Moms somehow seem to get so lucky each episode and manage to scrape through. Oh well. I like them.

I felt kinda bad for the brothers, even though I couldn't stand them at all.

His leg must have hurt really bad, they were crawling and far behind the other teams.
That Detour was really comical. Something to laugh about after the fierce face off at the airport against Colin/Christie. :roflol:
And I think the people who gave money to the Moms were really kind. I hope it was out of pure sincerity that those people offered their money.

Yeah, they were going very slow. I'm suprised they were taking it so well though. I would have expected them to be angry they weren't keeping up with the other teams.

Colin and Christie always pick the best detour. They are literally unstoppable. But something will probably come up, and they will make a mistake that will screw them up for a few legs. Then they'll regain their lead.

I thought it was hillarious that people were giving them like $5 or something and then they said 'Here's an apple!'

I'm excited about next week's episode. I really want Collin, Christie, Charla, and Mirna to fight it out. ;D
Charla cracks me up. When they were walking down the tunnel, "This is so easy for me!". She just toddled off in front of everyone, it was great.
Maybe it's just me, but was anyone else really concerned by the fact that no one knew what a scarab was?

I was concerned that no one knew what a Scarab was. It's common sense, it's in the movie 'Aladdin' therefore I thought they would know--everyone has watched 'Aladdin'.

I just got into this show recently, it comes after Big Brother 5 or before it, and I usually just watch Big Brother 5. I'll be sure to watch it when Amazing Race 6 comes, from the beginning :)

I'm kind of glad that the brothers had gotten the boot. I always felt a mix of pity and annoyance at the two, and pity and annoyance doesn't make a very good combination.

Chip and Kim's my favorite team now. They seem to be the only ones who haven't told one another/another team off. Then again, I missed the first few episodes, so I might've missed something.

I like Charla, too. She's the one that's really having the rough time, and she seems to not care at all.

I just started watching this show too. Like you, I used to just watch Big Brother all the time and never got into the Amazing Race (don't know why, as the concept is something I'd be very interested in). Anyway, this is one of my favourite shows.

The fact that NO ONE knew what a scarab was scared me. A lot. Seriously. I've known what it was since I was 6... How can they not? [Especially the twins. They are so creepy and they seem too perfect... I thought they would know everything.

And go Mirna and Sharla (Sharla is the little person, by the way...). Sharla is what these shows are all about.

I didn't know what a scarab was either

Oh, and for the record - The twins are faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar from perfect. lol They even said a few episodes ago that they were clueless. This is one of the first episodes where they haven't came in last or 2nd to last. (Well, last without being eliminated :P)

Finally. More Charla and Mirna fans. Almost all the people on the realitytvworld.com message boards hate them. I don't know why! Mirna does whine a lot, but I still love this team.

Oh, does anyone watch the Insider Videos on cbs.com? If not, I recommend you go and watch the videos for this week. There are two hillarious ones where Charla and Mirna are talking about Colin and Christie. :roflol: F & F & F & F.. That's all I'll say. haha

Yes, they admited this episode that they were clueless, but still... they just seem like creepy perfect know-it-all twins.

I like the Bowling Moms (isn't weird how they refer to them as "The bowling moms" or "the twins" or "the brothers"... They spend enough time with each other that you'd think they'd know their names...). But not as much as Charla and Mirna...

As for not knowing what a scarab was.... for shame :talktohand:

They do seem like they know it all. But they are so funny.. 'What the hell is a scarab?' 'Do you know where we are going?' 'YES!'

Another reason to go watch those insider videos - Kami (Or Karli?) thinks she goes blind because something pokes her eye. She starts freaking out and runs to the other twin to ask her if she's blind. :roflol:

Bowling Moms are awesome. I love how they keep managing to stay in the race despite almost always having something bad happen.

I think Charla/Mirna, Linda/Karen, and Colin/Christie are my favorite teams.

o_O I'm still not exactly sure what a scarab is? A stone, a bug, what is it?!

Thu Aug 12, 2004 2:15 am

Charla and Mirna are ok.. but Mirna's whining is just grating on my last nerve.
And then their " Can you do it?" "I dunno if I can do it! I'm scared!" UGH MUST they go through that cheesily dramatic crap every single time they get to a challenge??

I'd have to say that one couple is my fav right now.. dunno their names but it's has that young guy with the curly blonde hair.
They haven't really bugged me yet.. but.. there's still a lot of episodes to go :P lol

A scarab is a beetle. They eat rotting flesh and dung. Check it out here.... and again... *shakes head in disappointment*

Colin and Chritie seem mean to me. Don't know why...

But the religious couple creeps me out too. Like the time in the airport where they were like "We need an earlier flight!" and then the nuns came down the escalator and they got the earlier flight. And what form of Christianity are they anyway? I don't know of any that are strict enough to prohibit alchohol (when they wouldn't do the shots in Russia) but allows them to model (isn't that like selling your body a bit... I mean if you were really fanatical)... Oh well.

Oh. Ok thanks :P heh

Colin and Christie are kinda mean, but they are awesome players.

I like Brandon and Nicole, but they are kinda hypocrites (sp?). They say how they live for god, but then they'll go and screw over another team to get ahead. I'm not sure which form of Christianity they are.. But the god talk is getting old.

I agree, the God talk is tiring. They are hypocrites. You're not supposed to ask God for materialistic things. That's what he is for >

Thu Aug 12, 2004 11:36 am

I don't remember Brandon/Nicole screwing another team o_O
Moogum, the scarab they were referring to was not the species of a beetle. Yes, there is a species of a beetle called the Scarab beetle, but what they have to find is actually the other meaning of a scarab, which, according to the dictionary, is a representation of the beetle. But it's funny seeing how Charla chased after Chip and Kim to get a good view of the scarab.
I think Chip and Kim have the potential to at least be one of the last three. I have yet to see them quarrel among each other. But hey, Flo and Zach in AR3 quarreled most of the time, yet came in first...
Speaking about them, Chip was like "Wo!" when the taxi-driver drove them to first.
I think Nicole and Christie look kinda similar to me, do you think so?

Thu Aug 12, 2004 12:14 pm

I remember when Charla and Mirna had formed a weak 'alliance' with Brandon and Nicole after C/M helped them out of the mud, then B/N just sped off and left C/M. And when Chip/Kim, Lance/Marshall, Colin/Christie, and Brandon/Nicole all went to that travel agency, when they arrived at the next destination, Brandon and Nicole just took off and left everyone else.

Charla is hillarious. That was really funny when she chased after Chip.
I was also happy to see her yelling at Mirna to go faster. It gets back at her for yelling at Charla all the time.

Yeah, I've thought the same thing. Nicole and Christie look a LOT alike.

Thu Aug 12, 2004 12:28 pm

Thankfully Colin and Brandon don't look alike at all, I would have trouble identifying which team is which, if they do no display the team's name.
