Well, that's bad... Good luck to everyone, be safe! Hurricanes are horrible...

The only natural disasters we have in Finland are floods, storms and seldom forest fires. Those floods are pretty bad, but I think I'm safe from them. ^_^

I hope you're talking about last year. Actually, you are. The next name (if you follow the pattern) should be a female one.

o_O

I thought a hurricane just hit NC at the start of the season...

There are some times when I hate living in WI, but this is not one of them.

The worst weather that we ever get is blizzards. And we haven't had one in a few years. (Lotta t-storms and a few tornadoes, but other than that not much)

Yep..in a few hours Hurricane Charley is going to hit around Tampa...they're expecting it to hit earlier than they first thought though, even here inland we're supposed to be getting hit with hurricane strength wind and lots of rain x.X here is a radar site my cousin sent me -->http://www.local6.com/wxmap/1808248/detail.html

Wal-Mart in Highlands County has NO water and hardly any batteries for flashlights...I don't reccomend going there. We may be going next door to my Uncle and Aunt's house...it's newer.Ours is over 30 yrs old. Well I have to go now and I'll talk to ya'll in a day or so.Depends on power and storm.

In Highlands county I reccomend WWOJ 99.1 FM on radio even if you hate country music. O.o the wind speeds.

I'm in there, in Volusia and I'm glad we won't be getting as much hurricane as others..I hope everyone is ok..

I'm thinking he 's new to Florida....and hasn't ever heard of how bad a hurricane can be...I mean look at Andrew and George

Some guy is sitting it out in Florida...in his boat...

Boy, I hope someone drags him out of the boat before it's too late (which it probably is by now).

Yes, there was a hurricane/tropical storm that already hit NC this year. I forget it's name though, it was a guy's name that began with an A if that'll help anyone else remember it.

We had a thunderstorm last night, but I dunno if and when the hurricaine is coming here. It probably won't be very strong by that time though.

Hey Callie...the first band just hit us and yes I know your right across the road but I was at Jennas house and like a little twister formed like right in here yard and it flatened one of their tress and there neighbors roof has some damage and this is gettin freaky because now that its coming in at Fort Meyers instead of Tampa it will go straight across us.

Actually, depending on where he anchors the boat, he might be o.k.

Everyone here anchors their boat in the middle of the bay so it doesnt crash up against land or the dock. We have done it before, and it is effective. BTW- I am in Florida, too.

I've never seen what those boats go through while they are riding out the storm, so I couldn't tell you if it's safe or not.

I remember going through this one particularly

A few friends are evacuating their homes right now.

Meh, I'm safe. The only thing that seems semi-likely to happen is a flood. But we won't let our country flood. >O
I'm just sitting here being happy in my little Dutch windmill and I feel invincible.

My brother lives in Orlando, and he just called. He's being hit pretty hard as I type this. I guess he's pretty worried about his windows blowing out. It's raining really hard and really windy.
