Is it possible that maybe this is a petpet that you can fish out of the underwater caverns? In other words, both theories are right?

I try to fish at least once a day, so if I catch one before someone else does (unlikely, though) I'll see what it's classified as.

The new fish seems certain to be a new UWF item.

It's name is "Neopet-Eating Carp" and is searchable on the Wiz, although none are available yet.

I hope that's just a joke and that no actual Neopets will be eaten. The temptation to adopt xxglittrbrtneysprsgrrrrl4eva849872-named pets and feed them to the carp would be way too great.

Plus my Pirate Blumaroo's my main fishing pet. If a giant carp gobbled him up, I'd be inconsolable. :cry: Maybe they just bite and make a pet sick, or take off some HP? Guess we'll never know until someone catches one, IF it's indeed a fishing item...

I know what you mean, but I searched for "xxglittrbrtneysprsgrrrrl4eva849872" anyways, and thankfully nothing with that name exists.

I couldn't believe neopets would *ever* do something to cause a user to lose his or her pets. Based on the care they've always taken to assure users that their neopets are there to stay, I'm fairly certain it's just a play off of "man-eating shark" or something similar.

They won't take away our pets! That'd be too mean.

If it is a utility fish, it probably has some special attribute, but nothing irevocably bad, I'm sure.
