Once you find the first sequence, and then read the correct white scroll ... that symbol is "done" and you don't have to think about it again.

Then, you just need to keep trying to do the 2nd sequence until you get it. You never have to go back to the first.

Excellent, thank you for the help, this last part is a headache, 4 scrolls in anubis toxicology and i didnt want to keep going there all night

Does anyone know if the The Scroll of Recall is a new scroll? The description is "Never, EVER Read a teleportation scroll backwards"

It's probably just part of the Darkest Faerie plot :) but the bit about Teleportation caught my eye.
