Just because that instance was a hoax, it doesn't mean it always is. I'm in no way saying a lot of people aren't fooling around or being a tad over imaginative, mind you. ;)

No, it's psychological. You're convinced you'll connect with a spirit so you move the glass subconsiously.

I'll try and find a link on it.

It's not always like that, Twinkle. I can not speak for everyone's experiences, but I can speak for mine. I am not saying everytime it was real, but I do know it has been.

This reminds me of that professor in Harry Potter. What was her name, Trelawney or something? The one that foresaw the future. She told all these false hokey premonitions, but once every great while she had a real one. ;)

I've always wanted to try an Ouija board^^ I know I have a spirit guide, but I don't really have any way to contact it...It speaks to me, but I can't speak to it, unfortunately...

My dad says they're evil, so I'll probably have to make one myself or something.

I'm with Inrun here. I just... well I don't believe in things like that and even if I did, why would a spirit talk to you through a board? o.o

Well Im not one to judge, and I think there are a lot of things in this world that are "impossible". Just because you can't explain something doesn't mean it's impossible it just means you lack the means to prove it. For instance if you told someone 1000 years ago that there would be this miraculous thing called electricity they would have told you THAT was impossible. I wouldn't mind fooling around with one.

Emeh.
Lets clear something up.
Just because I don't believe in it, doesn't mean that I don't respect the fact that other people do.
It just doesn't work for me, which is ok. But I have absolutely no problem with other people believing in what they want to believe. *shrug*

I don't care if it is a bunch of hooey, it's always been a thing I'd like to try. Maybe the spirits aren't talking, but it's mostly meant to entertain.

I'd like to clear something up. Unless you're a medium (EXTRAORDINARILY RARE), Ouija boards do not work. Even if you are, it's quite unnecessary, seeing as how they could just speak through you directly. If you are a medium and you're letting every Tom, Mick, and Harry possess you as a party trick, you need a good smack upside the head. It's a bad idea.

I think of these the way I think of the random number generators

I've used them, but it seems just like I'm fooling myself.

Read the news article though, interesting nonetheless.
Yes... Very much so

Fidds, you are incorrect. You should not use absolutes. Most anyone can use a ouija board, some people are just more talented than others. It's just like any other ability like being good at math or sprinting fast. Also, mediums are not extremely rare. You just have to train yourself. Of course, some people will not be able to do it like I could never be a champion chess player. It's much easier to use a board than your own body. It uses much less energy and you have far more control.

You can train yourself to hone a skill you were born with, but you can not develop skills like that when you weren't born with any. They run in families. I've talked to many people about it, and they know what they're talking about.

Yes and so have I, Fidds. Most anyone can do it with the right training. Yes, some families have a much stronger innate ability and that runs in the family because it's in their genes. Not everyone can run fast enough to win a marathon, but everyone can run (unless a disability or such prevents them). ;)
