Journey to the Lost Isle Discussion (split #2)
Re: puzzle help
Gitanesbr: Yours is difficult. The three I did earlier on this board took about two minutes each (after making the paper pieces), but spent half an hour on yours with no success.
Will keep trying for a bit.

Having trouble with puzzle #3.. It seems whatever combination I come up with for the bottom I end up with the same spot open with a final piece that doesn't fit!!!
Any advice??

I just hope I don't get such a hard time with the third one, if anyone could help me with this one, I would appreciate it majorly.

Thank you :]
I have been working on your puzzle and now have a solution for you. It was a funny one!
Listen, I still believe that you should figure these out yourself. However, if I tell you where two pieces go, then you should be able to figure out the rest from there. I hope this is okay for you -
Let me know if you continue to have problems.
I am happy to help others in this way, IF they lay their puzzle out in the same way that blood_baby has. It makes it easier to manuveure the pieces in paint.

cybertrini: I can't do yours yet. I always end up having a vertical two-piece and needing a horizontal one, or vice versa.

Needing help!
Been looking at everyone's solutions, trying to get some clue on my own. I got the first two puzzles, but just can't get the last one. I've been working on it off and on for the last two days - I keep going somewhere else, to get away from it, and coming back. But no help.
Tried the "put the odd ones" in corners, can't seem to do it. Every single time I try, I get left with at least one or two empty spaces.
GAH! If anyone can help, it would be appreciated!!

Hi.
Right, your puzzle isn't really that difficult. You just need start off with one wriggly ropey bit at the bottom and fit your mop and bucket around that. You should be able to build from there.
From your picture, the mistake you are making is in the trying to place your blocks. You know you don't have any single blocks, so why even place the lines of three the way you have?
I'm happy to do a solution and give you the first two places - if you set your puzzle out on a grid and provide the pices like blood_baby did a few pages back.

Yours is relativly easy. Place the cross piece FIRST and work around that. There are only a few combinations where you will be able to get more than two pieces in, keep trying and you'll have it within 10-15 tries.

I know!! I really appreciate you trying, and I guess there is some comfort to know that I'm not stupid, since you managed to help all those others and this stumped you too (I know, schadenfreude, guilty as charged, lol)
If anyone else can figure it out, I'd really appreciate it. I'll post the coloured block version as soon as I finish doing it (My boss is not happy that I barely got any work done today, and I'm not sure if I can keep at this puzzle during work hours. (This is why I hate puzzles! I can never get them out of my head unless I get the answer...)
